What have you done with the original packaging

I kept the outer plastic bubbles. When i play any board game, that needs markers, i store the markers in the bubbles. Its better than cups.

I have saved the core set boxes, and one set of the punched cardboard frames from each expansion. I also cut out the largest picture of the starship off of the large/huge expansion boxes, and keep one of each of the planet backgrounds from the small expansion blisters.

I keep the ships in the plastic bubbles until I build a new foam casing for them-- I have hand-made foam storage for all my ships now, with a minor investment in Tacky Glue and about $14 worth of seat cushion foam from the craft section of Wal-mart.

My daughter used one of the bubbles to make a piece of furniture in a model for her Home Ec class, too.

The little boxes with the covers inside small ship blisters fits perfectly in the Core Set packaging. Since i don't own many ships, i put my tokens, cards, baseplates and BP tokens, and a couple ships in those boxes in the core set boxes, then i have a small Pelican case with a handmade foam packaging for 8 more ships. Carries everything i use. The Core set lids bulge a little bit but it's no issue.

I will say, the packaging of the core set is perfect for holding a bunch of ships fully put together, which is useful if you have to go from table to table for, like, a tournament or something.

That front tray holds 5 ships pretty snugly, and the other two large trays holds six(2x3) just as well.
