Another confirmation that squadrons are obsolete... sad

Within a Very limited set of scope. Thats Confirmation Bias, right there :D

Both our 1st and 2nd places winners had lots of squadrons. It was a small pool but still. There was also a GenCon Special list floating around. I think they're worth something. Rogues and Villains will help too I think.

Hey! Don't knock them!...I will be running squadrons at 400... since thats the point level the game is really supposed to be at...I think less squadrons was more competitive at 300...I think you can absolutely win at 300 still with them...but 400 points will change everything... at least that's what I forsee..

Thanks all.

Squads are not obsolete, people don't know how to use them right. I won two sullust using 7 squads as rebels. The 400 point game I did 5 hull damage alone to the ISD with squads.

I won mine with 9 squads...definitely not obsolete. Our top 4 placed winners all had squadrons out of our 12 participants. These squadron obsolete comments always make me laugh.

Right on! Yeah, I laugh at these posts as well. Now with wave 2 comming being able to run: Boosted Comms, Ruthless Strategists, Wing Commander and Expanded Hanger Bay. May they will see the power then.

Our winner had 8 squadrons as well.

After getting demolished by a Yavaris + Talon + B-wing list, I had to take squadrons just to keep them down. I brought 2 advanced and Mauler Mithel, and managed to keep them occupied long enough amidst the 4 A-wings he brought to prevent too much damage to my fleet.

Try Mauler Mithel, Soontir Fel, Howlrunner, Tie advanced and Tie interceptors, watch the tears. Engage with Mithel for first initial damage, Soontir Fel to then tie up squads with escort and has scatter to keep good rolls hitting, Tie advanced for counter and most likely target over soontir because of scatter and adding to damage, Interceptor for counter, Howlrunner for adding 1 blue die to all attack rolls including counter and swarm on most all your ships.

I can confirm LukesandLadders does even better with squads as without them. last game we played he used his shiny new ISD to activate a Rhymer ball and take out my Neb-b on his first activation. Squadrons are a thing and any list that does not prepare for them in 400 point games will pay the price.

Oh my "standard" list used to always have Soontir, Howlrunner, Mauler and an advanced. I just didn't have the points to it.

I played against my own ISD the other day and my opponent was first player and had a Vsd with 1 hull left an engineering token and command coming up and was one move from the station.

Han went first and blew the bridge of that baby to kingdom come before he blinked! Wave 2 you need squdrons. Or dont take them and let han plink you!

Ah, han's ability is that he gets to shoot first? Awesome :P

Squadrons are OP lol

but no bomber,.

and bobba fett gets to auto damage a ship. So in wave 2 you need some sort of fighter defence.

The top 2 at our Sullust both used fighters. The winners 6 TIE LN saved his butt in the first and third games.
