I thought the theory was interesting, certainly not beyond the type of thing JJ would do...nor, given the "ring theory" of the OT and PT trilogies, is it beyond the type of thing Lucas would have come up with.
Cool! I buy it, but I am thinking the Knights of Ren are the ones that may have "cloned/engineered" Kylo in this case. Vader's goal was to stop people from dying, so perhaps he created these Knights to find a way to bring Padme back and instead they created Kylo.
I'm still of the opinion that Anakin is the Emperor's "son" via the Force (which is why his mother says that there was no father)... which doesn't preclude something like this, at all...
I was just reading issue #9 of the Darth Vader comic, which is officially canon. And it ends with Vader and his people looking for a guy who was a mortician on Naboo. I haven't gotten my hands on the more recent issues yet, so I don't know how that will turn out, but it seems to me that a mortician would be in a good position to get some biological material...
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ren at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred.
For extra fun:
The fact that Darth Vader was Luke's father is not widely known. If the DNA was taken from Vader or, possibly, from Luke, Kylo is unaware of his connection to Luke and might believe he's a pretender. This could lead to a fun reversal of the scene from Empire.
It's definitely an intriguing theory. A little out there, but I kind of like it for that reason. I'm one of those guys who was absolutely in love with the Indoctrination Theory of Mass Effect 3.
This definately sounds plausible.
AND, if this does turn out to be true, I'm definatenly going to be staying away from spoilers for episode 8 and 9
