500 point Team Epic Game

By Gersun, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I am going to play my first ever Epic game on Wednesday, and I was hoping to get some advice, specifically on the load out of the huge ships that I am bringing. We are playing 2v2, and each team gets 500 points to work with. My teammate is bringing YTs and a bunch of X and B wings, and I was going to be in charge of taking the huge ships and some filler. With that in mind, this is what I was thinking:

GR75

Carlest Rieekan

Torynn Farr

Slicer Tools

Quantum Storm

(50 points) - This seems like a huge bargain. The GR75 is an amazing support ship!!

CR90 - Fore

WED-15 Repair Droid

Single Turbolasers

Sensor Team

Backup Shield Generator

(67 points)

CR90 - Aft

Shield Technician

Quad Laser Cannons

Engineering Team

Engine Booster

(54 points)

The goal here is to zoom ahead and smash enemy small ships to pieces, pretty simple. Quads are there to kill things that dodge the ram and get in behind me. I'm trying to keep my CR90 cheap but survivable, so it can outlast the enemy raider and get in some serious damage to low agility targets, like the Decimator, Punisher, and Lambda (my opponent really likes Emperor Palpatine, but luckily all of the ships he can ride on have low agility so I can snipe them from range with the turbolasers). I noticed that the fore is way more expensive than the aft. Is this a bad thing? I don't know how to balance the costs more, or if I should just keep it how it is.

Now comes the escort. If I do a straight 250 split with my teammate I will only have 79 points left to take for ships, which isn't much, so I was thinking about cheap Zs and As, but I am open to feedback for sure!

I currently have the following as the rest of my list:

Jake Farrell

Veteran Instincts

Push the Limit

Autothrusters

Chardaan Refit

(30 points) Jake is most likely the only ship I will have left to fly in the end game. I think the GR75 will go down first because it is such a pain, and the CR90 will follow shortly after. If the Talas have shot their missiles they're going to fly aggressively into range 1 and probably die, so Jake is my safe bet to continue playing for the whole game.

Tala Squad

Concussion Missiles

(17 points) - x 3 of these. They provide serious damage with TL and Focus. If they're killed before they fire, they've soaked up fire off of my more valuable ships.

Is there anything I should fix/change? This will be my first epic game, and I am really excited, but I also have no clue what I am doing.

Jan Ors with swarm tactics is a strong companion to the CR90. She gives the main gun an extra die and the CR90 firing at PS8. Also, I typically run Han in the CR90. Spending a target lock like a focus can be really helpful.

Good points on Jan, I like her a lot, and will play around with that. Do you think Han is better than the repair droid? I want to focus on survivability, so switching a defensive upgrade for an offensive makes me nervous.

TANTIVE IV: CR90 Corvette (Fore) (50)

Weapons Engineer (3)

Sensor Team (4)

Tibanna Gas Supplies (4)

Single Turbolasers (2 Energy) (8)

Quad Laser Cannons (2 Energy) (6)

TANTIVE IV: CR90 Corvette (Aft) (40)

ยท Chewbacca (4)

Engineering Team (4)

Backup Shield Generator (3)

Quad Laser Cannons (2 Energy) (6)

This my favorite cr90. Never fails if you just line your deployment up so u can turn once and go parallel to the long edge. I've tryed set ups with replacing Chewbacca for dash and run an Em emitter bright hope covering it. You just can't shoot at the cr90 if it's going to be rolling 3 to 4 dice with a reinforce. For epic tho. Your escorts should be cheaper and plentiful. I run b wings and turret y wings.
