Rossiel and an Ents deck... should be solid!
After a bit of playtesting I have tweaked the deck some to add much needed card draw. So far the deck has defeated Dunland Trap (multiplayer), The Three Trials (solo), Trouble in Tharbad (solo) and Nin-in-Eilph (solo) as I finally get around to finishing up the Ring Maker Cycle quests. Here is the updated version of this deck. For quests that require location control I will sub out the Bow of Galdrhrim for Asfaloth.
Only 1x The Door is Closed? Was it just to hard to realize the combo?

It's a good card but when I needed the extra card draw it was the most expendable card. It is probably much better in multiplayer though and recently I've been playing a lot of solo LotR.
Thought I might just post my victory display deck. It also places a big emphasis on Ents.
This is my first deck I've posted on the forums.

Suggestions are welcome. However, I have a limited card pool consisting of:
1 Core Set
Black Riders
Road Darkens
Treason of Saruman
Conflict at the Carrock
Khazad-Dum
Watcher in the Water
Foundations of Stone
Shadow and Flame
Heirs of Numenor
The Steward's Fear
The Lost Realm
Angmar Awakened (so far)
(sadly, I lack any Ring-maker packs and the Ents contained in them)
Once you get your hands on Across the Ettenmoors, Wellinghall Preserver is a must for any Ent deck. My only other suggestion is to make sure you have plenty of draw effects giving you access to your key events (Leave no Trace) (None Return)
I finally caught up on the Ring Maker quests beating the Antlered crown and all the rest with my Rossiel deck. I have to admit, initially I was quiet skeptical of her ability especially for solo play but she is definitely better than I thought and I had a lot of fun playing with the victory display mechanics. Ultimately though, I think it is the strength of the Ents that carried me through Dunland to achieve victory.
When I saw the first deck I had 3 thoughts:
- This is just as much an ent deck as it is a Rossiel deck.
- Where is the card draw?
- It's nice to see someone with the guts to use Elrond without Vilya.
Then I saw that you played Dunland Trap and thought it was probably a good thing you didn't have card draw there.
I was glad you came to your senses though. Personally I would have skipped Lorien's Wealth, and added another Gleowine and The Door is Closed.
Looks like a very powerful deck though, like you, I'm curious if the ents has more to do with it than Rossiel and her supporting cards.
Are there really so few people who use Elrond without Vilya.....? I really did not realise it was so much of a thing....
There are plenty of other ways to utilize the Elrond hero in a powerful way and still have a great deck/s without having to use Vilya not to mention some players don't want a card of that nature (can be extremely overpowered with Gandalf hero revealing the top card of your deck) making their deck almost as powerful/broken as Outlands.
Boosted healing, epic resource smoothing and great stats are more than enough... I wish Vilya did something else like give Elrond the ability to actually do some healing himself or protect other characters or even affect locations somehow (all of which would be more thematic as well in my opinion). People who use Elrond without Vilya don't specifically have guts, people who always use Vilya anytime they use Elrond simply have none
Edit: Nice decks by the way! both of you (Ecthelion and JTG81). I've been thinking about making a Rossiel deck for a little while now and you guys are definitely making me want to build one even more!
Ents pair up with certain decks and strategies so **** well now... I think we will see many decks in the future that are not simply Rossiel or Secrecy or Valour or whatever decks but are Valour/Ent or Secrecy/Ent or whatever/ent decks. Some will argue this hurts deck building a little but I think it is great as there will always be other options but Ents will be a nice quite powerful option as a secondary strategy/identity for most decks.

Yeah, playing during the Ring Maker cycle kept some of the card draw away at first. The Ents are particularly strong but in my mind are anti synergistic with Vilya as they would still be exhausted when they enter play. I usually play Elrond for his healing prowess as I love me some healing and combined with Wellinghall Preserver and Warden of healing, I can deal with most of the direct damage the encounter deck is throwing at me.
Yea. I've only played 3 different decks with Elrond, but they all used Vilya. Only one of them really featured it, though, and these decks might have a tough time using Vilya since reading is sparse, so I'm not super surprised it's not included
Nobody is rocking any Rossiel secrecy decks yet? Secrecy is the first thing I thought of with her. Paired with Mirlonde and Glorfindel, starting threat is 19. Making that "out of the wild" 1 cost instead of 3 is pretty huge with getting victory display going.
I've also become addicted to "the door is closed". I can't tell you how much I love this card. Firstly, it's actually a legit way to counter the hated surge cards....the only one I know of.Secondly, this card is a game changer if you set it up right. You haven't lived until you've slammed the door on an orc war party, or a nasty surging enemy.

What about Minas Tirith Lampwright?
HAHAHAHAHA justkidding.
My first pass at a Rossiel deck was mono-Lore secrecy, actually. Nice to have a maxxed-out Mithrandir's Advice around to help draw all those victory display shenanigans cards.
The Minas Tirith lamp wright is one of those cards the designers should almost feel guilty/embarassed for releasing. I can understand why treachery cancellation needs to be extremely limited, but never understood the need to draw that same fence around surge.
I was intrigued by Mono lore secrecy, but was worried about the extremely limited threat reduction, and thus not remaining in secrecy long. I'd love to play a variant though that included alot of encounter deck manipulation with Rossiel, since that's technically what the victory display shenanigans are anyway. What lineup did you use?
One thing is for certain. I think Rossiel decks are maybe the most enjoyable deck archetype to play at the moment.
To me an Elrond deck is an Elrond deck (and it has Vilya) and an Ent deck is an Ent deck. If anyone has a Rossiel deck that doesn't have Elrond or Ents (Or Spirifindel for that matter) I'd love to see it.
Disagree entirely. A Rossiel is any deck that focuses on victory display shenanigans. Because like ents, Rossiel and victory display manipulation is a sub theme, it can be mixed and matched with many various deck types.
My Rossiel deck does have spirfindel (because it's secrecy, he's kind of necessary for that) and only 2 copies of quick beam as the only entry representation. I rarely play with Elrond....as he is one of the more boring lore heroes and his threat is too high.
I am trying her mono lore secrecy with Pippin and Mirlonde-it's a lot of fun recycling Out of the Wild with Scroll. Combats been a bit of an issue, so I'm still tinkering.
