75 point list with building restrictions? I can't even build a decent normal list, sheeesh

Have a local tourney coming up with a scenario based format. Rules specify that your base squad must be 75 points and include at least one unique pilot. You're then allowed two reinforcement groups of up to 25 points.

These are the only details I know so far so I'm not sure how the reinforcements fit in or if the scenarios are ones from the expacs or if they are custom ones. Does this rule format sound familiar to any of you?

My first instinct is to go for as many ships as possible so I'm drawn to a Z Swarm with Cracken as my unique. Then for reinforcements I'm thinking a couple of FCS Blues would be nice, of course I could always just plug a couple bandits instead of the blues. Just wondering if you guys could think of a more efficient 75 points that includes at least one unique. I could always...gasp play imperials and run a Soontir Tie Swarm too.

Hmmm, I'm looking at a tournament near me with the exact same rules, except it says the 75 points must include at least one UNIQUE pilot, not a non-unique. Could be a different tournament, just a heads up in case you read it backwards. :)

EDIT: Just re-read your post, maybe you have the terms mis-labeled in your post, because it sounds like you might be thinking Cracken is non-unique?

The fact that the the reinforcement groups are limited to 25 points is really restricting. Because you can't even include a ship that's more than 25 points in that entire portion of your list, and it's an overall fairly large portion of your list.

Indeed I do, I'll probably see you there. I also have no idea what I'm bring yet, or what the scenarios might be.

@DarthEnder - I'm sure the limit was intentional, if the reinforcements come late in the game as their name suggests, an ace pilot who usually excels late game might be unbalancing, depending on the scenario.

Hmm, if I were flying in this tournament, I would probably start with a Fat Corran (PtL, FCS, R2-D2, EU), and a Blue B with either AS or FCS. Then, for the 25-point add-ons, I'd add either another Blue, or a TLT Gold (maybe w/R2) for each.

The Blues and Golds are reasonably solid jousters, and Corran's shenanigans magnify against smaller lists and/or late-game reinforcements.

I would stay at home and sleep...

Tie swarm. Add a named tie or named FO. Add 2 ties for both reinforcement groups

Tarn Mison and a R7 is 25 points. Just saying...
