Slam questions

Can I still do a slam if I was to fly over a asteroid, or collide into another ship.

I looked on the slam card. And faq.

Didn't see anything mentioned, but I was I'm a game so didn't spend a lot of time looking.

We played it as you could since it counted as a maneuver

No. Slam is an action, and asteroids cause you to skip your perform action step.

When are you intersecting said asteroid. On the slam action itself? Yes. Treat it like a maneuver.

If you hit the asteroid during your initial maneuver, then you won't be able to action to slam in the first place.

^This.

Also, this works with Daredevil.

A ship cannot perform a SLAM as a free action, so it has to be during the Perform Action step. And if you've parked on or flown over an asteroid you skip the Perform Action step, and thus can't SLAM.

The same would apply for a debris cloud as you receive a stress token straight after the check Pilot Stress step, and then you can't perform your SLAM action.

Not actually his question.

He was wondering if he could SLAM through those collisions, or if it would be prevented like a Barrel-Roll or Boost action.

Oh, I see now. You can read that both ways though.

So, can you SLAM onto or over and asteroid, or into another ship? Yeah, sure.

I know you can't do actions when hitting asteroids

I wanted to know if I do my action, choose slam, can I still do it if I go over a rock, or hit someone.

Think I got my answer

Yeah, Dracon pointed me in the right direction as to your question. I thought you were asking if you could still SLAM after you'd landed on a rock. But I can't see any reason why you can't SLAM onto/over an asteroid or into another ship. It's pretty much the same as using Daredevil to do it. And that's a long established tactic for Decimators.

Or anyone else willing to buy an Engine Upgrade.

Or Tycho long before them.
