I guess that the Imperial card will be the top2 prize, like Dash on Summer kits or Han last year
2016 Store Championships officially announced
ah free c3po
I don't know of anyone who bought the Cr-90 just for c3po (I know someone who won it at a tournie, which is different), but if I did this would be a wonderful bit of Karma
Maybe C3PO is in addition to an Imperial pilot card which they could not spoil? Perhaps a pilot from wave8?

just a wild guess
Or the picture is just wrong and a place holder for 3PO
it's more fun to speculate
plus, don't these kinds of swag boxes always have an alt pilot card, and least as of late?
kinda weird to placehold an upgrade card with a pilot card
I'm finding out now from the source via FB. Will let you know.
Did I miss something that explains what a challenge coin is?
I was thinking the same thing. I guess perhaps it's supposed to be an init token?
Well the rules now say that we're supposed to flip a coin to determine who chooses initiative when both players have the same number of points. These coins probably are for that.
I thought it had always said that? Either way, most people dice off anyway...
Yes, the original rule book has always said to flip a coin for initiative (NOT roll dice for hits or eyeballs or whatever) when tied on squad points. Ironically, the new FA core set rule book changes this to a dice roll (which many people have always done and assumed was the official ruling). To confuse matters further, some of the tournament rules and FAQ still quote the old rule book and say to flip a coin

oh well, I'll take the devaluing of 3po over alt-art any day

Not sure what you mean by the Karma bit...I bought the CR-90 mainly for the upgrade cards (C3P0, R2D2, Han, Leia). I did intend to get some epic games in but it just hasn't happened. I'm glad there is a way for others who can't afford or just aren't willing to buy the CR90 to finally get the card. I'll be happy to have an alt-art C3P0. In the meantime he's helped me win a regional, so I can't complain.
I just want that poster. I mean, I REALLY want that poster! Definitely talking to my local store to see if I can spirit that one away after the tournament!
EDIT: I guess if I'm asking permission it's not "spriting away." Still, I'm asking to take it home when it's all over.

Great. Something to shoot for. Now where's that "worst squad ever" thread...
Depending on numbers at your store, this could be a very cheap way to pick up a 3PO card.

Heck, if it's anything like last year up here range rulers for everyone might as well be guaranteed.
Just out of curiosity does anyone know how much is costs for a store to enter into this?

Store championship kits have been $60 in the past.

I thought the original rule book said init went to the empire in the case of a tie.
So what do you do in a Empire vs Empire match? The tournament rules are not necessarily the same rules as in the Learn to Play section of the rulebook.

I. Casual play, yes. In tournament play, no.
Question about the Store Championship:
Can the TO/judge also participate in it?
Question about the Store Championship:

Yes. This is covered in the tournament rules document.
Ha. Including C-3PO as a participation prize is pretty funny. I can remember a few of the more undesirable players that I have met bragging about how they bought the Tantive just for that golden god of a card.
[Anakin] NOOOOO!!!! [/Anakin]
C3PO packaged with the CR90 was the only thing keeping Golden Droid shenanigans under control. Now he'll be everywhere!

Most people who play already have him, now it will give the more casual/cut rate/new player a chance to use him.
