Wedge and Blount

By Wedgeismyhero, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey guys, first time posting here!

So I built this list to try and counter Fel Decimator specifically, but hopefully afford enough flexibility that it might prove useful against other lists in a tournament setting. Of course I wouldn't be able to field this until the T-70 expansion hits, but any critiques would be much appreciated! Also, I want to fly a handful of X-wings.

Wedge Antilles

- R2 Astromech

- Push the Limit

- Integrated Astromech

Lieutenant Blount

- Deadeye

- Ion Pulse missiles

Rookie Pilot

- R2 Astromech

- Integrated Astromech

Rookie Pilot

- R3-A2

- Integrated Astromech

99 points total.

The idea was to have enough arcs to catch Soontir with something, ideally Blount so he could damage and ionize, removing his Stealth Device, and making his next move incredibly predictable. And, if forced to run head first into an intervening Decimator, to put a nice chunk of damage into it while pursuing and attempting to close with Fel. I wonder if Blount with the Ion Pulse missiles poses enough of a threat that Wedge isn't the automatic priority target. Coupled with two Rookie blockers, and a stress bot on one of them, this might allow enough control, firepower, and options to counter a variety of lists. Also, since the Z-95 and X-wing dials are pretty close to being the same, moving in a formation is also a possibility.

Do you have the new core set? Wedge would really like BB-8 - not just for Focus+TL every turn, but also to give positional options if he moves after Soontir. Drop the R2 on the rookie to keep it 99 points.

I sure do, and good call, but I need to get in some practice with using BB-8 effectively. I feel like BB-8 really wants Engine Upgrade instead of Integrated Astromech though to give Wedge an additional option. I really like the R2 for the 2 greens it affords, giving PTL Wedge a few more options for dumping stress. I'll keep BB-8 in mind and give him a whirl.
