The tourny I am going too has this extra rule
The exception is that every build must have one medium ship with at least 130 points for time purposes. (Cuts down on activations)
Here is my list that follows those guidelines Please critique me!

Is there any other reason than extra activations @ time?
Seems like a weird rule + the upgrade costs.

Just time constraints. I guess they don't want to see 6 Corvettes or something? I'm fairly new at this so I'm just rolling with it.
That seems rather arbitrary, and I wonder if it's legit?
Honestly that's a horrible rule, it unnecessarily shoehorns the meta into few ship builds, and makes whole fleets unplayable. I've run 3 ship builds with my most expensive ship being ~80 points.
Time constraints is also a terrible excuse: rounds for this game are timed for a reason. If they have other time constraints on them, such as venue closing, they should announce shortening the rounds, not adding arbitrary fleet building restrictions. Slow play is going to account for more time wasted than me activating 3 Corvettes in a row.
I would complain. Raise these issues with the TO, have a respectful discussion, but if they refuse, contact FFG. Locations that are running FFG events should be running the actual game, not enforcing their own house rules on people.
I couldn't agree more.
Changed my list up a bit. Still using the rule format for the tourny. Please, any opinions appreciated ![]()
