Apparently episode 3 was the worse but I stop watching episode 5 after one blatant error. I guess it is hard to keep track of rules while holding a camera but wow just watch the videos yourself. As for where is episode 2 and 3? Most likely in their vault as they have a subscription service into their business plan. So maybe those will be better but I don't know. Atleast they are doing X-wign stuff now.

The only thing I could find wrong is that you watched their videos.

This should NOT be the place to make fun of people playing the game, even if they aren't doing it 100% correctly.

"Spot the mistakes" is 100% a learning experience/proficiency test and doesn't need malice projected onto it~

Whenever I see mistakes being made in gaming videos, I always feel a little said because they're missing out on a truly authentic gaming experience. But, at the same time, if they didn't catch the mistake they're probably none-the-wiser to their loss anyway. And besides, at least it wasn't my game. :)

I want to enjoy these so much, because MWG getting their act together would mean there is an actual channel putting up games edited nicely every single week. No other channels do that for x-wing.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Sanctioned Battle Reports, anyway?

That Rebel list in episode 1 makes me sob.

They are still going, one was uploaded today.

EDIT: I see where the confusion happened. I was referring to the Sanctioned SWing channel, not LET's Sanctioned Warhammer videos.

There playing the game, there having fun, there not running a tournament... why does everyone expect every video to have a tournament list...oh wait that's all anyone EVER records!!!

Just enjoy the casual game and quit nitpicking.

Those are some of the worst Rebel builds i have ever seen in my entire life.

Like, just.... jaw-droppingly bad.

The first video was the worst and when i saw it i groaned. When i saw his opponent was flying RAC and Fel, i didn't even bother watching past the introduction.

Episode 3 absolutely should have been a Rebel loss but somehow it wasn't(because the scum player was terrible). The rebel player barrel rolled into an asteroid. Cause you totally can do that. Because it is totally a brilliant decision to put expert handling on an A-Wing and not, you know, Push the Limit or Outmaneuver. does anybody even use expert handling? I've never used it once. And they pulled an extra card from the damage deck when they got direct hit, which is also Very Legal. And that time when Boba shot someone hilariously out of his arc. Twice. And when the Scum player performed a red on Bossk when he was stressed and they didn't follow the rules to give the Rebel player the dial to choose.

And then.... He just... attacked someone... who collided with him...

Episode 5.... X-Wing PS2 generics with Stealth Drives??? No Astromechs with enough points to mount them all with R2s or R5s???

AND THEY WON?

Oh, right. Kihrahxs. Or however you spell that. With the same Scum player from last time. Go figure.

God, this is some of the worst X-Wing i've ever seen. I feel like i contracted super cancer.

Yes except they broke so many rules that are central to the game mechanics. It's not even about the lists as much as it is they clearly didn't read the actual game manual, just the Learn To Play booklet.

Like, for a channel devoted to tabletop gaming you'd think following the rules would be somewhat important to them.

You're a liar if you didn't build hilariously bad lists when you were starting the game.

Everyone built bad lists when they started... But none of us made videos trying to show other people to play either...

For a company that's trying to produce good wargaming content It's odd that MWG's standard for X-Wing batreps has actually gone down.

Some of the earlier Batreps with Matt and Dave were really good fun, and at times downright hilarious.

Sure they had a few rules slip-ups and the lists were sub-optimal, but they showcased the game quite nicely.

I feel really strongly about this too, mwg was the group most responsible for getting me into x-wing. Those first few videos were really good, especially the one where they made all the sound effects.

Throwing out the rulebook aside, most of you feel that only the current meta lists should ever be on video? Let them fly whatever they enjoy flying, no matter what anyone else thinks of it. Just follow the rules though.

This video threw the freaking gauntlet, I'm doing this tonight on Vassal.

It's not so much the not-meta-lists I'd say, it's the ships not being used to their full ptoential. Rookies without astromechs, or A-Wings without Push the Limit as an example.

And I have to agree that pointing out mistakes isn't malicious. I personally found my enjoyment of the game increasing when I discovered mistakes I was making, and how the rules were more properly implemented. It helped me change tactics and my own approach to list-building, which let me finally start winning games. Those of us pointing out rules mistakes only want to make sure that people playing have the best possible experience, and the best possible experience for the viewer too.

House rules are fine and I'm all for switching up the game, as long as the players (nd any viewers who might not know themselves) understand it's a house rule, and not strictly how it should be played.

The solution is simple: drive/fly to Canada and challenge them.

Or just continue to comment on the videos with constructive feedback about the rules. They do read their comments and learn. There is often a big delay between filming and posting though, so it could take a while to see the effects.

I do live close enough to the boarder for travel to be reasonable.

I just need to figure out if getting a new passport is worth it.
