Defend the Emperor!

This is very similar to mine.

OGP + Palp

Vadar + Lone Wolf + EU + title + ATC

Soontir + PTL + Stealth + title + Autothrusters

I've been thinking about reducing Vader to a 1 or 2 point EPT so I can afford SD on Soontir. How often are you able to use LW? Keeping him out or R2 of the other two has not been an issue?

Approximately 75% of the time here.

When I play with it, the uptime on Lone Wolf is great right until the round I need it most, when I'll inevitably have a friendly ship end up an eighth of an inch inside the Range 2 bubble. YMMV.

Which is always my fear with LF. It's two points and there are other options....

I've definitely seen people who are able to use it consistently and effectively, and I'm sure it's a matter of practice. But as you say, there are other options that I find a lot more rewarding.

Why always a shuttle?

Patrol Leader (48)
VT-49 Decimator (40), Emperor Palpatine (8)

Saber Squadron Pilot (26) x 2
TIE Interceptor (21), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2)

The last several weeks I have tried a few different versions of Vader.

At least some different EPT's. I always use engine upgrade and ATC (plus title ofc)

I lean to either VI or Predator.

VI is very cheap and gives you obvious advantages vs high PS pilots.

Predator (on top of ATC added 'free' crit) makes your dmg output *very* consistent.

Lone wolf I tried a few times but it does not work as well. For me.

Too often I need (want?) to get close to the enemy and this is where more often than not my other ships are too.

tl;dr. in my experience other ept's are better value for points since they always work.

Why always a shuttle?

I think it's because Omicron Group Pilot + Emperor Palpatine is 19 points cheaper than Patrol Leader + Emperor Palpatine. It's not that I don't think the Decimator build can work, but it puts you in sort of an awkward position: too many points for an ace, not enough points for two aces or even a Howlrunner mini-swarm.

Good to see so many recruits ready to defend his excellency! The Emperor may yet be as forgiving as Vader...

What I'm excited to run:

OGP + Palp + Anti pursuit lasers

Inquisitor + V1 + AT + Juke

Vader + Predator + Title + EU + ATC

I'm also a huge fan of Lone wolf on Vader, pretty easy to flank from two different directions with the palpmobile bringing up the rear on everyone that K turns to follow the aces! On top of that, if you leave Vader for last you're going to be in far more trouble that if you leave Soontir... but either is bad.

So I have recently been playing Palpamobile plus double aces list, and I must say, wow. I feel like this is going to be a staple Imp list in the future. TLT has taken the limelight off it, but I feel it is very strong. Currently, it has gone undefeated in the past three local store tournaments/casual nights at my FLGS. I have seen several variations on it. The two I have run had Palpy + Whisper + Maarek and Palpy + Carnor + Fel.

Strengths? Weaknesses? Personal favorite variations and why? Discuss the Dark Lord of the Sith!

The more ships you face, the worse palpetine becomes.

I think Kenkirk + Ace is my favorite variety of the Sheve Miller Band. Something like this:

Commander Kenkirk (44)
Push the Limit (3)
Emperor Palpatine (8)
Ysanne Isard (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Darth Vader (29)
Predator (3)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
TIE/x1 (0)
Total: 100

PTL on Kenkirk is to allow boosting at the beginning of the combat phase off the Isard evade action. Helps to compensate for lower pilot skill on Kenkirk.

Can always drop Vader in place of Super Fel which gives you two points for a bomb or maybe best to just use a 2pt initiative bid against other PS9 lists.

What I'm excited to run:

OGP + Palp + Anti pursuit lasers

Inquisitor + V1 + AT + Juke

Vader + Predator + Title + EU + ATC

Juke is definitely going to be a thing. High-PS pilots can use it to force token-stripping, and low-PS pilots can use it as a straight-up damage buff. Green Squadron can load up with PTL + Juke and confidently focus/evade or TL/evade and punch way, way above their weight class. The TIE/v1 title with Juke is even better, since you get the same action economy as the A-wing without the stress.

I genuinely think v1 + Juke might end up as the second-biggest Wave 8 freakout.

I like the list - but I like that sheve miller band even more ;-D

imagine him playing the drums or a keyboard while being on a joyride in his decimator..

I feel like Lone Wolf is best taken in a 2 ship list. Maybe pair it with Ruthlessness, just to drive home that this list needs to be flown miles apart.

PTL on Kenkirk is to allow boosting at the beginning of the combat phase off the Isard evade action. Helps to compensate for lower pilot skill on Kenkirk.

Isard is an effect not an action so no need to activate her. Still nice to be able to boost and focus/TL every turn, but the green on the decimator dial is very limiting.

Isard allows you to take a free evade action, and when you do you trigger Push the Limit.

Ah I see, very clever.

Move - focus/TL/boost - Combat/Isard triggers which triggers PTL - focus/TL/boost.

:)

Isard is an effect. She has conditions, and when those conditions are met her effect triggers.

The effect is a free evade action. And Free Actions- like any action- meets the conditions for PTL, which can then trigger a free action, as long as that action is listed on your action bar.

Similarly: Isard's free evade action would meet the conditions for triggering Experimental Interface. But EI does require that the free action be from an equipped card with the Action header, rather than being from the action bar. So you could make use of Expose that way.

Also: important to note that if you have stress Isard can't trigger. However! Had she given a free _token_, she _would_ trigger.

Ordinance is becoming much more prevalent. Perhaps Expert Handling would be a good 2 point EPT for Vader.

Areed. My two ship list is as follows;

Commander Kenkirk

Determination

Emp Palpy

Insane Iceheart

EU

Darth Vader

Title

Prockets

Lone Wolf

EU

ATC

I can"t tell you how many times I"ve one shotted an opponent with those prockets. I love "em.

Lopsided Aces:

Rexler Brath, Lone Wolf, HLC, Stealth Device = 49

Mauler Mithel, VI = 18

OGP, Palpatine = 29

You've got 4 points for upgrades (maybe Sensor Jammer?), but no matter what, nobody wants to be on the receiving end of an Emperor boosted Rexler Brath HLC shot.
