Hi all!
I am but a poor L5R Refugee looking to transfer my cardboard addiction elsewhere. I am kind of confused a little with this "Core set" "second ed" thing.
Is second ed a whole new reboot? Will I need to buy the old core set?
I want to start the game, and would look to have a full playset of cards. how should I go about this?
Any advice would be appreciated.

This game (and Star Wars and Netrunner) are my cardboard addiction of choice. Also waiting for L5R, but I won't stop playing the other games. GoT will take up most of my gaming time, and then will probably take a back seat to L5R for sure. The LCG system rocks! Random packs and rarity B.S. is for suckers or people with enough disposable income who find traditional gambling monotonous.
Is it just me or does your avatar look like some LA casting agent thought Megan Fox would be perfect to play Joan of Arc?
I'm correct in saying I won't be able to buy second edition until december/january yes?
AGoT: Second Edition is supposed to come out in mid-October per this article .
According to the Upcoming page, it went to Shipping Now on 9/27 so it could theoretically start showing up in stores literally anytime now. Certainly no later than 10/9.
Ah thanks Tincro, I guess I am starting at a pretty good time. I was a little confused because of the reboot, was looking to see what older cards I might need but turns out its not even out yet!
I thought 2nd ed was just a continuation, not a reboot!

You pretty much can't ask for a better time to get involved. It's a low barrier of entry (just the core) and it's only a few days away (no long wait like those of us that had our eye on it since it was announced in Nov 2014).

Heh, why limit? I pretty much love all the factions for different reasons. Flavor wise though, Night's Watch sounds like it has the most unique focus and playstyle of the bunch.
