How to make an Interesting Character.

How interesting is my character?

She's a princess from a well-to-do core world with a populace that's not fond of the republic hates Jedi (we're playing KotOR era) and she accidentally killed her fiance' on their wedding night. Her fiance was a prince from the other planet in the system, the other half of a cold war that has been going on for hundreds of years - and she accidentally killed him by shoving him off a balcony with telekinesis from her untrained, burgeoning force powers.

So, full of self loathing because of her heritage, dramatically increasing the tensions between the two planets, opening the door for the Sith to roll in and establish a beachhead in the core that eventually set off a shooting war across the galaxy between the two superpowers when she gets caught up in all kinds of political intrigue and double dealing among her family.

So yeah, pretty interesting.

Weird.... Think I fixed it now.

Tengo Ryder’s life has been about betrayal. The betrayal of the Separatists during the Clone Wars when he fought for the Republic. The betrayal of the Jedi to the Republic. The dawning days of the Empire and the clear betrayal of so many principles of the Republic. Tengo had served under a number of Jedi generals and their alleged treason was always a little hard to swallow. All the betrayal left Tengo a fair bit disillusioned with the powers that be so he decided to leave the military. He also decided on the way out the door to tip off some former Jedi about an Imperial purge team which did not endear him to Imperial Intelligence, which was fine with Tengo as the feeling was mutual.

Age hasn’t mellowed Tengo and in his travels the one truth he has come to believe is that government period is as crooked as a tree root. Whether it was the decadent brainless slobs that let the Old Republic fall apart, or the fascist thug hate mongers running the Empire now. They all had one thing in common, they wanted control, and to get it they had to take away someone else’s freedom. It’s the one thing he craves more than anything. A fast ship, an open sky, and a galaxy of opportunity.

My dude is Gauvain Mayhawk, of Coruscant.

He was a Senate Guardsman, bodyguard, friend, and confidant to Senator Bail Organa. About a year ago, Mayhawk left the service to follow Organa. Recently, he was sent by the Prince to the Outer Rim, to personally take charge of a secret negotiation that would ensure the Alliance would get much needed ores and resources to produce matériel for the rebellion.

When Mayhawk arrived to this world, Excarga, he quickly found himself embroiled in the local politics and scheming. He was betrayed by an unknown adversary and found himself captured by the local Imperial Army garrison. They had been holding him prisoner and ineffectually interrogating him for days inside a command variant AT-AT. The army officer was explaining to him how an agent of ISB was on his way to

BOOM!!!

The side of the AT-AT unexpectedly burst open and amid the confusion and laser blasts, a young woman leapt in, kicked the stunned officer over and exclaimed to Mayhawk, "I'm Renée Tarkin... I'm here to rescue you!" The escape from Excarga was harrowing, and an Imperial shuttle was popping out of hyperspace just as Mayhawk and his rescuers were entering it.

Onboard the ship, Mayhawk learned from his rescuers that the Emperor had disbanded the Imperial Senate, and, worse, Alderaan had been destroyed by a new super weapon. The bounty hunters who had rescued him had simply been hired to come to Excarga and retrieve Mayhawk from his mission.

He was delivered to Polis Massa to discover...

Gauvain Mayhawk is a human Hired Gun with the Bodyguard, and Mercenary Soldier Specializations. Future Specializations might include Tactician and Sharpshooter. He still has his blue Senate Guard laminate armor and a DC-15A blaster rifle.

He's a knight among thieves, hoping to direct them to be better than they are. To rise above.

Is your character interesting or boring?

I only ever play boring characters. They fascinate me. :P

Interesting..

I sometimes have interesting character concepts. And then I remember I'm the GM.

Sinno Vau of nowhere in particular (Mandalore). Veteran of the Clone Wars (CIS), disowned by his family (they were of the pacifistic political group) and nowadays a small time gambler, drunk (recovering) and smuggler who has discovered that 1, his former contacts during the CW are all Rebels and 2, the you Twi-lek that stowed away on his ship is a burgeoning Jedi.

Oh and he's been taking mercenary work from those former contacts against the Empire even though he thinks bringing the Republic back would be almost as bad as dealing with the Empire in it's own way, but he hates the Empire, so what is a being to do?

EDIT: Since this recently came up, those fire eating Mado bounty hunters running about? Sinno freaking hates those guys. You see, Sinno has the classic armor, but it had been mothballed for almost 20 years between the war's end and current events. But he doesn't really enjoy it.
