i think Han Solo will be a staple to my Rebel lists. Love his rules and Move3 actually makes the YT-1300 DO something, and i love that ship.

I was really worried they'd make him either mediocre at best, or utter trash via rules or cost and i'd have to field the normal ship to get that model on the field lol

Im really impressed they managed to make Armada Imperial Boba just about as lackluster as Xwing Imperial Boba.
His ability is not worth the point you pay. Maybe if it bypassed shields on ships.

When a ship suffers damage and a hull zone isn’t specified, the ship’s owner chooses which hull zone suffers all of that damage. Pg. 4 RRG, under Damage.

He's a souped up Vader with Bomber for 5 more points. Not worth it.

Actually that 1 auto-damage can be a deal breaker. I very often have ships survive by the skin of their teeth because they keep being allowed to shimmy shields around. Only CR90 ive had die commonly with shields still on it, everything else tends to lose all shields before dying.

But for 26pts and no Scatter....eww

It's one automatic damage without rolling dice, though, which is pretty useful in itself. You can even deal that damage to one target, and then have him go after another one with his attack.

The defending player choosing which hull zone it goes on does make it a bit worse than I thought, but I still think it's pretty good even with that caveat.

I don't have problems with his damage, 1 auto plus Blue/Black with bomber will mean he tears ships to shreds. My problem is the same one i've had with Vader. They just don't last. Got to have scatter or you'll simply die to massed fire.

Wait, so Fett's damage goes to shields? I was under the impression it counts as a damage card.

Boba with Signal Boosting and Speed 3 can effectively kite an enemy of shields all game not counting his bomber ability.

Y'all are silly, boba goes with rhymer. 4 blues of protection, free damage against tycho, b wings anti ship fire at medium range. There's literally no downside to him tied to rhymer. Sure he costs more but were almost certainly not gonna be able to get away with 3 bombers + rhymer as the only fighters at 400 points. Put a couple bombers, fett, rhymer and a couple advanced and you have a rhymer ball that can defend itself alot better from minimum squadrons (8 a wings would probably still kill that, but not much I've seen lasts against 8 a wings). Throw dengar in there for more sillyness and counter/intel

I don't think Fett's ability gets modified by Rhymer.

The REAL downside to Fett is the ability happens at time of activation. If everything moves away (or dies) before that point, it doesn't trigger. Fett's ability has to be primarily thought of as anti-squadron as they will be engaged and have a harder time running away. Ships though, Fett needs to position himself where they will be NEXT turn for his ability to trigger NEXT turn. This means he doesn't get it on initial approach (unless they come to him, say Demolisher). It can be worked around, it just won't be so automatic in practice that it sounds like in theory.

The idea isn't to use Fett's ability with Rhymer. You use his potent anti-ship dice with Rhymer. If the enemy sends in squadrons, then Fett's ability plus his anti-squadron attack of four blue dice can make them pay for it.

His ability is less useful against ships, but glass cannons like Soontir Fel will probably hate it.

Wait, so Fett's damage goes to shields? I was under the impression it counts as a damage card.

When the term "damage" is used but not specifying a hull zone or type of damage (Damage Card for example), the player taking the damage gets to decide where that damage goes. If it is on an assault frigate that had its shields stripped then it would deal a damage to the hull. If the opponent chooses a side with shields to take it on then it damages the shields.
