So, according to the series mythology, alien colonisation of Earth was set for approximately 2012 (or ten years or so after the final season). Now it's on it's way back. Planned, or happy coincidence?
This isn't the only series which set a future date for events, either.

Not that I really remember x files that well it's never on telly anymore.
FFG should accuire the licence of that x-files card game and reboot it into something cool, maybe even an LCG...
