Massing At Sullust: Questions for Store Owner and Organizers.

Interesting. Certainly helps save a chunk of time.
This was all stuff in the orginal announcement.
The number 1 and 2 Seed play off for first choice of Expansions. Therefore unless they are in agreement about what expansion they want the last game absolutely decides something.
yay radio
1. How many of each expansion was in the event pack?
2. Are you really going to play the fourth game? (Most venues I have seen are only doing a 3 round tourney) It requires the use of all expansions...so dependant of question 1 above, everyone may have to wait for game 4 resolution...eek.
3. There are 5 Expansions for Wave 2 and only prize descriptions for top 4 placements. What are you doing with the 5th? Is it going to the winner of game 4?
1. There are 1 of Each Expansion, 5 Total Expansions.
2. The Fourth Game is only played by 1 and 2 of the Swiss Rounds. Yes, you're going to be sitting around for your Prize after that, if you hit 3rd or 4th (and possibly 5th), and your Prize will be Gently Used.
3. The 5th is scheduled to go to the TO. Some Generous TO's are putting it back into the prize pool, but this is generous, and is not required.
yay for reading!
For our tournament, they are using the rules per the Sullust event guidelines. First through fourth place get their choice of pack and the fifth pack goes to the tournament organizer.

I doubt this has been a problem in many areas but we have over saturation. For us to have a sizeable tournament we have to all get together at one store. The Massing at Sullust stuff divides us pretty bad. Best case some of us can hop around from Saturday to Sunday. But in area they kind of just approved everyone it seems like.
In my area we are worried about getting enough participants to cover the kit cost. I was talking to the TO (who will also be playing) and he indicated that all prizes not awarded will go to the store owner i.e. he is not getting anything for being TO. Also if we have 5 players the fifth will get last pick at an expansion, if we have 6 players we will split the fighter pack among 5th and 6th place.

Yeah that is our problem. Two stores backed out on running events and one didn't get it. Our store is worried about getting enough players. right now looks 5 or 6 will be going to the event on Sunday which might not cover the kit. Armada sadly does not have the player base like X-Wing does.
The way I'd originally understood it, the first and second place players each pick one item from the new wave, then using that one item, build a new fleet using that one item, plus whatever they had decided to bring with them. But from what I am reading here, they essentially draft all 5 of the new items between 1st and 2nd place, and then the players choose which ones they will bring home with them?

Each side is required to use all of that factions ships from Wave 2 and at least 1 squadron from the pack.

One player will construct an Imperial fleet that includes theImperial-class Star Destroyer and Raider-class corvette, as well as at least one of the Imperial squadrons from the Rogues and Villains Squadron Pack. The other player will construct a Rebel fleet that includes the MC80 star cruiser and MC30c frigate, as well as one or more of the Rebel squadrons from the Rogues and Villains Squadron Pack.

ah, thank you, I had severely misread that.

Thanks for pointing this out. I was planning to use at least these if I ran Empire in the final round, but not if I drew rebels, so it's helpful for planning purposes (in the unlikely event I get to play the final).
My LGS is breaking up the Fighter Packet to give out to players who do not get a top 4 prize. This way the top 12 players all take home a toy! Pretty cool idea I thought!

One of the stores I am TOing for is doing gift cards if we get more than 8 players.
Both Stores i am TOing for are giving me ultimate authority over the event so I am handing out the prizes.

Slightly problematic if someone in the Top 4 wants the Squadron exoansion.

Ya I already have 2 guys that want the Squadron expansion so they would be wise not to break that pack up.
My local store is becoming concerned about getting the tournament kit in time. We applied day one and got a quick positive response. The funds to pay for the Sullust kit were drawn 5 days ago and an electronic copy of the paid invoice was received. Still no delivery of the Sullust Kit and we are getting down to the wire.
Unfortunately, the only Sullust event I can attend is on the same day as Weird Al's concert in London, so I'm going to be pushed for time. Assuming the LGS isn't already planning on skipping the last round, I'm already expecting to have to concede that round anyway if I do get to the top 2.
