Juno Eclipse TIE Advanced

By heliodorus04, in X-Wing Rules Questions

What happens when Juno Eclipse does the following:

1) A K-Turn?

May we presume the pilot can increase or decrease the range by 1?

2) A 3-bank turn of any type?

Can that be extended somehow into a "4-bank" a maneuver that does not exist?

3) A hard 2-bank?

Can the pilot reduce the speed to 1, a maneuver not on the ship's dial?

If so, is there any consequence to executing a maneuver not on one's dial?

She can shift her maneuver to a new speed of maneuver that exists in the game. So,

Yes, she can shift the K-Turn up or down

No, she cannot perform a 4 bank, 4 turn or 6 straight, since they don't exist in this game

Yes, she can perform a maneuver not on her dial, so long as it actually exists, so a 1-turn is fine

No, there are no special consequences to doing so.

And of course, remember that the card says she can't go speed zero.

Also remember that she keeps the colour of whatever move she originally revealed.

For example, if you reveal a straight-4, then decide to drop back to a straight-3, the move stays white despite the straight-3 being green on the dial.

EDIT: Speeds fixed. Clearly I don't play the TIE Advanced enough...

Thanks for that last bit. I did not realize that.

BUT it also works in reverse. that a green 3 becomes a green 4 straight

1 2 3 green straight.

1 soft left right (without MK2)

can be 1,2,3,4 straight and

1,2 soft

This is what FFG put in their Advanced article when they previewed the pilots from the Raider. Clearly shows what she can do :)

From that remember that Juno should never select 5 straight, 3 turn or 3 bank.

From that remember that Juno should never select 5 straight, 3 turn or 3 bank.

Can you explain this a bit? I'm not sure I understand.

Does a 3 which Juno wishes to "extend by 1" become a 4-straight?

What he's saying is that Why limit your pilot ability to just slow down, Each setting of your Dial should maximize your movement potentials. Therefore..

4Straight

2 turn

2 bank

are the optimal maximum speeds for the dial of Juno.

You can't extend a 3 bank to a 4 straight, if that's what you're asking.

The reason not to dial in a max speed maneuver with Juno is that it limits you to two options (do maneuver, slow down) instead of three (speed up, do maneuver, slow down).

Got it. Thanks.

In many ways I like to say Juno has the fewest real options on the dial to worry about. If you want to make a turn you always pick speed 2 because you can then go faster or slower as needed. With banks you can set speed 1 if you need a green maneuver which could be speed 2 or you just set speed 2 so you can also pick the speed 3 bank although then any bank you make is white. Going straight then 2, 3, or 4 should be selected. Of course you still just have 1 K-turn to pick from.
