Nashtah Pup Scoring

By gibbro, in X-Wing Rules Questions

The FAQ is clear that if I win a game and the ONLY ship I have left is the Nashtah pup it is worth 1 point. But what if it isn't the only ship I have left?

I have a 50pt Hound with pup and 50 other pointsworth of ships. My Hound is blown up and then I beat my opponent without losing any other ship. Does my opponent get the 50 points for the hound's tooth or just half points because the Nashtah Pup is on the table? Or does my opponent get 49 points, because the Pup is worth 1 point?

Similiar question if I only have the Pup left and we go to time. How much is the Hound/Pup worth to my opponent and me?

As per the FAQ, the Pup is only worth a point if it the ONLY ship left, as it says "if this situation arises...", meaning the example of it being the only ship left on the board.

In any other situation, it is worth nothing. So in your example, your opponent would score 50 points for the Hound it destroyed.

Given what the FAQ says, I would say the same for if it went to time. You would score whatever you killed, and your opponent would get 100 points (or whatever the total of your lists is) from you.

It's only ever worth a point if it is the last ship standing at the end of a match overall, not just on your side, based on what the FAQ says.

The Pup can be worth a point to break up a 100/100 MoV that could come along with a full, 5 point, win.

In any other situation it is worth nothing.

I guess that is a very recent alteration that is completely contrary to the earlier FAQ and also to the tournament rules which still state that cleaning the board is a "win" without qualifying a time it would be a modified win.
