I know 3 of 4 out of Frostmarch and heard that 2 are new 2 are "reprints" , new being Ogre Cheiftain and Warlock , old being Leprichan an Necromancer but any old players know what the Necro might do?
Anyone know about the Necromancer?
You can squint at the Necromancer from pic on Talismanisland. Not 100% sure on the abilities, but:
#1: Start with 2 Spells
#2: Can attack another char in psychic combat
#3: Spirits won't attack you, though you can choose to attack them.
#4: If you don't attack a Spirit, you can "minstrel" (my word
) it, rolling a die, need to roll more than its Craft. If you roll higher, it becomes a Follower and adds its Craft to yours in psychic combat.
#4 is basically for Necromancer & Spirits as Minstrel is to Animals. Although, now that I really squint at it, looks like Necromancer can use any number of Spirits, but they are one-use, discarded after use. So Necromancer can try to do with Craft what the Ogre Chieftain looks to do with Str.
In third edition in the white dwarf magazine, there was a normal Ogre.
So he is not actually new, but he has become a Ogre Chieftain now with better abilities
It seems he is getting a ( rank up) after all these years.
This means that only the warlock's brother is new
QUESTION: With the Minstrel in all editions, considering he could only take one animal follower, did it stay with him or was it one shot use like what's listed for the O.C. and the Necromancer? I can't seem to remember, and I don't have the game editions handy to check.

IIRC, Minstrel's Animal has always been a permanent addition. For some reason (maybe because he lost immunity to Hag), R4th Minstrel can have more than 1 Animal, but still can only use 1 in battle.
Thanks, that sounds pretty much as I remember, though I wasn't so much aware of the 3E variation.

Well, Third edition has no Minstrel..
The Second edition has more characters than the Third edition.
Third edition has only base game+3 expansions.
While the second edition has more expansions and more characters
I was just browsing my White Dwarf magazines today, came across the 3rd Edition Necromancer in the article. Did 3rd Edition have any characters that could attack another char in psychic combat, since the Necromancer couldn't do that in the 3rd?

In Third edition, every character can attack a other person( pvp) with Craft
There is no ability needed for this.
Whoah. That's just nutty
!
