Sorry. Another Reb Sullust Fleet

By SmurfWedge, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi guys

Back once again. I'm taking one of these fleets to Sullust so just checking on thoughts or advice on the below. I prefer no squadrons at the moment as I need to get better at getting them to work.

REBEL FLEET 1 (298 Points)

1 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Garm Bel Iblis - Advanced Projectors - Enhanced Armament - Intel Officer - Sensor Team (125)

2 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Advanced Projectors - Enhanced Armament - Intel Officer - Gunnery Team (102)

3 • Nebulon B Support Frigate - X17 Turbo Lasers - Salvation - Intel Officer (71)

4 • Objectives - Advanced Gunnery - Hyperspace Assault - Dangerous Ground (0)

REBEL FLEET 2 (299 Points)

1 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Mon Mothma - Advanced Projectors - Xi7 Turbo Lasers - Intel Officer - Paragon (126)

2 • Nebulon B Support Frigate - Xi7 Turbo Lasers - Salvation - Intel Officer (71)

3 • Nebulon B Support Frigate (51)

4 • Nebulon B Support Frigate (51)

5 • Objectives - Opening Salvo - Fleet Ambush - Minefields (0)

My only thought is why sensor team? For the few dice that afmk2 will be throwing from a single arc (no paragon), thats 2 dice down to remove a token. Or you could take Veteran Officer for 2 pts less and just give yourself another CF token. If you like the utility of ST put it on the Neb Id say...will give you more support firepower with those long range reds, which are more likely to roll a blank anyway.

I agree with NightwindKing, not a fan of Sensor Team in general, and using it alongside Intel Officer seems excessive as they're both trying to focus on the same thing.

On list two (or on any list really) I'm not so keen on Fleet Ambush. If you're going with that fleet maybe take Contested Outpost and slow roll your Nebs past it?

Yeah FA is hard for any list relying on nebs I think...it really gives very little advantage to either side...and for nebulons youre not really going to want your opponent to deply CLOSER than normal...that said, it does allow you to focus fire down a ship or two at the start...

Thanks for the advice guys.

I added Sensor Team as I couldn't get a gunnery team onto that AF. But I see your point regarding the waste using them there. Will take them out.

Hmm. Contested outpost could work. I thought it favoured Imps more but I can see that it could work with the Nebs forward firepower.

By the way which list do you prefer after making the changes you mentioned above?

Apologies guys

Just looked at my battlescribe and realised I entered list 1 incorrect.

Here it is the way it was meant to look

REBEL FLEET 1 (298 Points)

1 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Garm Bel Iblis - Advanced Projectors - Xi7 Turbolasers - Intel Officer - Gunnery Team (123)

2 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Advanced Projectors - Xi7 Turbolasers - Intel Officer - Gunnery Team (98)

3 • Nebulon B Escort Frigate - X17 Turbo Lasers - Salvation - Intel Officer (77)

4 • Objectives - Advanced Gunnery - Hyperspace Assault - Dangerous Ground (0)

Here is list 2 again

REBEL FLEET 2 (299 Points)

1 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Mon Mothma - Advanced Projectors - Xi7 Turbo Lasers - Intel Officer - Paragon (126)

2 • Nebulon B Support Frigate - Xi7 Turbo Lasers - Salvation - Intel Officer (71)

3 • Nebulon B Support Frigate (51)

4 • Nebulon B Support Frigate (51)

5 • Objectives - Opening Salvo - Contested Outpost - Minefields (0)

Which do you prefer.

Any other advice welcome

Of those I run something similar to the first one, but with a corvette and A wings. So, without the extra units Id go with the second list, assuming youre good with nebs (Im not lol)

You know what, I want to like the 2nd list more. Your Neb-Bs bring the red dice for cheap, Mon Mothma keeps them flying and thanks to MM the AF2 can get fairly close and disrupt enemy formations while staying safe. It's also got that fourth activation

However every time I try and argue for list 2 I go back to list 1. The AF2s manoeuvre better, are tougher, and with the Gunnery Teams you're capable of throwing down more red dice than list 2. I also think the objectives on list 1 make a tougher choice for your opponent. If they give you Gunnery you're double-tapping Salvation and that can kill a ship straight up. With Hyperspace you get to deploy your Salvation reactively somewhere it can hit hard and not be hit back. With Dangerous Territory your AF2s can easily skirt the enemy fleet aiming for a few easy points to top off your score on the objectives (assuming your opponent decides to skip the two crits from Asteroids on their side).

I like List 2 a lot. But I think List 1 will play better.

Thanks a lot for the thoughts mate.

Really some great advice there. I'll playtest List 1 tomorrow night I reckon and see how it goes.

Really appreciate the advice as I was really torn between the 2 but I reckon list 1 might be the way forward.

Also this....I'm not too sure how well the Nebs will stand up....haha
