Wow. Just...wow.
FFG did EXACTLY what dozens of posts claimed they wanted, and all that occurred was complaints about the pricing, the quality, the packaging. Did we really think they were going to take a loss on such a niche product? Obviously not to please...well, apparently, NO ONE.
They won't put them in the box. EVER. Because they sold 4 boxes profitably already without them. I love the artwork of Arkham Horror; the game doesn't need them at all. And now that all those who want them won't pay for them, I would think this topic is pretty dried out now.
FFG, I didn't want them, but I would have bought them. Thanks anyway.
I'm still upset they got cancelled. They looked good at an easy monthly price point. A lot of the comments under the cancellation notice seem to support the product as announced. I wish they had spoken up before and maybe it would have been saved.
Well I'm not sold on the idea of FFG being so super sensetive to customer opinion as expressed on the Forums(prime example BattleLore),the AH minies were the wrong idea at the wrong time & to FFG's credit they reconized it (too bad they didn't have the same wisdom on Mutant Chronicals figs
).

I am...
My hope is the same as many other. Affordable miniatures for the game. While pre-paints would be nice, I'll take unpainted plastic minis over no minis at all.
I haven't painted my WoW, Descent or Runebound minis and they work just fine for those games.

Actually, the main expenditure in miniature manufacture is designing and producing the moulds. Once you've broken even on those, you're good as the cost of an individual figurine is measured in pennies.
i mean in a way i would love the minis, but in another i think the tokens are great and give the game its feel, i think monster minis would be better, leave the investigators maybe as they are, i mean look at the bag of cthulhu...they are great
I'd like to see unpainted plastic minis for investigators AND monsters. I'm a fan of GW and enjoy painting their minis for Warhammer when I manage to invest time in that hobby. AH would benefit greatly from a similar experience. I'm convinced offering minis individually or in bundles via a webstore would give FFG another income stream.

The problem with that is that they're impractical. The cardboard rectangles are so much better because they hold all the stats about the monster. If you were to use miniatures, you'd still need to draw the rectangles out of a bag, then find the matching mini, and probably put both on the board so that you have quick access to stats. Seems redundant.
Plastic monsters would work okay if you had a reference card with all the stats; but yeah, you would have to still have tokens for them for the purpose of the random draw from the monster cup unless that was to be replaced with a dice roll on a chart. One advantage of plastic monster minatures would be that it would be easier to quickly count how many there were on the board (for such things as working out what needs to go in the outskirts and when the terror level needs to increase etc). The card chits are better for ease of storage though.
i luv minis,(bumper sticker?)and was looking forward to these.

That wouldnt work since the odds of drawing certain monsters are not fixed because the quantity of monsters in the cup is in flux. Sometimes there are no cultists, sometimes there are 3, etc. Monster minis just do not work well in this game. However I do have some very old metal cthonians that come out whenever they are drawn and they look really cool just...sitting there.
You'd get the same amount of models as there are chits in the game. I was thinking along the lines of keeping the chits for obvious reasons, the model's base could have an integrated stand to place the chit upon, which would allow the player to take just the chit as trophies as usual. Possibly redundent but I'd like it!

There's a website that has all the expansions for only $15 each.
Not to keep a dying thread alive too long, but Jambly, which site is it? I have a friend that wants to get into the game (even though I've already got everything).
I was looking forward to collecting the entire set. Definitely my favourite FFG game, and they would have made a great addition. I've always wanted prepainted minis for all sorts of things (rpgs, board games). I just don't have the time, interest, or skill to paint miniatures, and I'd happily buy them prepainted. Shame FFG think there's no market for them.
...and they continue to tease me by leaving the AH minis posted in the upcoming section.

If you're still looking, this site has pretty good prices, especially in bundles. I'm considering the full expansion bundle since I just got into the game and can get all of them for basically the price of the two I really want (IH and DH) and get the marginal exp for a steal.

I'm kinda sad that the figures for Arkham Horror were canceled. After so many games I can see that the standees are worn out a bit. Those figures would really come in handy.

Man, how many games have you played
? I know I played only my 100th game today, but my standees are still in good condition.
