Monster Toughness

By player1951209, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hi! One rules question and one more open one about monster toughness:

1. Certain Mythos cards (e.g. this one) increases certain monsters' toughness temporarily. If you kill one of those while such a card is in play, and then draw a new environment card, how much toughness does the monster token have (to buy for)?

2. When scoring victories, monster trophies are all of a sudden counted one by one instead of by toughness. Why? Any thoughts?

#1: Printed amount, so best cash it in while the environment is in effect. Note that this works both ways, if you kill a Cultist while it has no Toughness boost, then an Environment Mythos is drawn that buffs Cultists' Toughness, your previous trophy will be worth the extra for cashing in purposes while the Mythos is in play.

#2: No clue.

2: I guess (thematically) it's because monsters (regarding of their toughness) swarm Arkham triggering Terror in the very same way, so that scoring rewards those who help the population living a more tranquil life

(still, considering the frequence AOs try to enter Arkham, I'd pack and move anyway, but that's another story)
