In the wake of TLT's more players are using sensor jammer. Could a side effect be more use of marksmanship?
Marksmanship?
Marksmanship is only barely better than a Focus token (both convert all your eyes to hits, Marksmanship just makes one of them a crit) EXCEPT when you get multiple attacks per round. So the only ships I see taking Marksmanship are stuff like named HWKs that have an EPT slot and are using Twin Laser Turret, and other such multi-attack builds. Even then, there's usually better EPT options, since stuff like Recon Specialist and Moldy Crow exist.
So, yeah, if you want to counter Sensor Jammer, just Focus more often. I think cards that grant a focus token or extra action will be more likely to be useful, such as Outlaw Tech.
Nope
The difference is jammers are actually useful
Marksmanship is very bleh
Not to mention epts aren't terribly common amongst tlts
Marksmanship is more useful than a Focus only when
- You require the crits, and expect foes with high damage mitigation (or Calculation would be better)
- You have multiple attacks per round.
TLT does fulfill one of these requirements, but is a special case: How much does it improve your to-hit, vs generating extra damage?
To answer that, who's using Sensor Jammers against you?
It's something worth exploring, or would be if the best TLT users weren't conspicuously missing their elite slots.
You could shoehorn something in on a high-PS HWK, I guess, but those usually have better things to do with their EPT--and there are diminishing returns when you add points to fairly fragile frame.

Besides, the high-PS HWKs can take Recon Specialists, who are better than Marksmanship except against Dark Curse and Carnor Jax.
If you want to TLT with Marksmanship, you actually want to TLT with Horton Salm.
I like Marksmanship on Wedge, but then I have a limited supply of EPTs to choose from. I don't own any A-Wings, B-Wings, Aces, or Scum and don't proxy.
I've seen people use Marksmanship on Bossk. Is that a good call?

It's one way to get crits with him. It's one of the more expensive ways, though. You probably want to mix marksmanship with gunner in this case.
When you look at Marksmanship vs Predator for the EPT. Both let you modify multiple attacks, Predator does it without the use of your action, so you can take a focus. Sensor Jammer will mess up Predator, but in general I think you will get more out of it then Marksmanship. Actionless abilities are always strong.
Kavil might be able to get some good use out of it, but then again Predator.

Marksmanship+Blaster Turret+EI+R4 Agromech says hi.
(though you have to get a couple of Wingman ships in there somewhere I guess)

You could do that or you could just take PtL and open up your mod and salvaged slot.
PTL doesn't give you a focus-effect on the shot.
Edited by TipperaryOr just go Kavil + TLT + Marksmanship and throw an Unhinged on there for maneuverability. Not great but not bad either.
Eh, his ability might increase the chance of TLT actually hitting, but it's still capped damage, and will never deal crits, which makes Marksmanship feel more like like a waste. Blaster Turret can lay down some serious hurt with the right setup since it doesn't short the attack.
Corran loves Marksmanship...unfortunately he's sleeping around with PTL and VI a lot lately
Bossk w/ gunner and marksmanship works really well. It's better than mangler cannon because it works in all of your arc. I feel its better than calculation because if you have multiple focus results those still get turned into hits and it works on the gunner shot too. In all honesty I don't know why I haven't really heard of or seen anyone else using it.
^ I play Bossk with gunner, marksmanship, heavy laser cannon, and the Nastah Pup. It's almost unfair to my opponents who use low agility ships when I push through 5 damage at range three with a secondary weapon because they wiffed on their defense dice and I had good to decent attack roll before modification XD
