I can't believe they're making me buy the whole base just to get different color pegs! Literally unplayable

Some of the pegs and bases I already have are broken- now I have to wait for an FAQ to figure out how these new pegs work with my old bases? The most recent FAQ would have been the best place to put a clarification on these new pegs/bases, but I guess they were too busy with the new TFA core rules. Get it together, guys- we only want original trilogy ships.

I'm going to put Orange Pegs and Bases on all of my lists and easy button my way to X-Wing World Champion. (As long as I don't run into a three Blue Peg and Base list. I hear those are OP.)

No one is even going to buy the purple Pegs and Bases- you can get more options for the same cost out of Red or Green Pegs and Bases... Wait a minute; what do you expect us to do with all of the clear bases that we already bought but are now worthless? Corporate greed at its finest. (Or is that at its worst?)

Anyway seriously FFG, no pink Pegs and Bases? Why do you hate your player base so much?

A lot of players wanted them......but I guess swimming in to much p!$$ and vinegar has dulled you to realize there are others that play this game. I personally won't buy any except the clear for replacement needs or grey and black once those come out, but I'm not going to roll on the forum floor kicking about the others.

Rebel Alliance are Red

Galactic Empire is Green

Scum is Orange

Resistance is Blue

1^st Order will be Purple

and last but not least, Clear will be for the Yuzzahn Vong

Guys, I am not sure if I would be going for blue or orange bases and pegs. Any experience how it affects performance of T-70 X-Wings? I would really like to do well on tournaments. :-(

But I agree with the OP that the three large orange bases and pegs will ruin the meta!

Where are the black bases? They'll be included with a $100 Scum Epic ship release, I'm sure. Why force people to buy Epic ships for the bases they'll need to remain competitive?

I don't normally proxy, but I couldn't resist proxying the different colors before they released. I'm still waiting for the actual pieces, but I discovered something really disturbing during my own testing. Orange bases and pegs are good, but I found that with enough practice, any color can beat any other color. The thing I think people missed during playtesting is that not everyone will stick to the contents of a single pack; they assumed people would fly each ship with a solid color, but I've been trying different combinations of pegs and bases. In all the combinations, I've found green to be the best complement for orange since it covers orange's few weaknesses so well. In particular, orange bases with green pegs knocks the socks of the others. This is disappointing because it means other colors are pretty much unplayable, including green bases with orange pegs. Thereason that's so terrible is because even if you buy one green and one orange, you still effectively have 4 small and 1 large base as if you only bought one pack. I usually say you can just fly with your favorites and you'll do alright, but the power differential is too great here. Somebody really dropped the ball on this one. We're gonna see nothing but orange and green at nationals. So much for a healthy meta!

I'll buy some red and black ones for my favourite Roughriders squad... Errrm. I mean my Redblacks squad, yeah...
