Insurgency: AoS

By TRK 283, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Beginning a campaign at 18 BBY.

Remnants of the Separatists who intend to continue the fight against the Empire. Their leader, a former Jedi Padawan who had foreseen treachery of the Republic just before the Clone Wars.

This will be a campaign spanning Force and Destiny, Age of Rebellion, X-Wing and Armada. I'm still creating pages on my blog, but there's plenty there to introduce the campaign. I've set up the blog to work more like a website.

But this topic is set up so that I can get advice from time to time.

I've enjoyed watching the first season of Star Wars: Rebels. So much that it has given me two good ideas for organizing my campaign:

FIRST

I'm going to create my own planet as a place for the first games to take place. For anyone who has read "Gathering Storm", it is where Thalia had foreseen her master get shot in the back by Clone Troopers. She didn't know it at the time, but learns of it soon after Order 66. More on that will appear in the "Campaign Story" soon, and "Locations" following that.

It makes sense to have a place where the Empire will have a presence, and which I can shape around my characters rather than the characters having to fit in. I needed somewhere for scattered characters to find each other, rather than just say they're together "just because I said so". Fact is I'd like my own world to run operations on without the influence of existing Canon or EU, and the current TRK system is too remote for anything to happen there at the moment.

SECOND

While I'm keeping the "Timeline" the same, I've changed the actual "Campaign Story" from the BBY/ABY set up to "Empire Day". I've found it has actually made it easy to track time from the birth of the Galactic Empire.

Got plenty to do before the action kicks off. But I'm going to concentrate on the fiction for now to set the scene.

Some changes inbound!

While working out character creation, there have been some great ideas presented. Because of this, I've got some big changes to make. But changes that are very much welcomed, and give me opportunity to rewrite a few things I wasn't entirely happy with.

I'm hoping this is a common occurrence for new Games Masters just starting out.

Blog will change a little too. But those changes will take place once the characters, their background and their first adventure are solid. At which point the blog will temporarily vanish while I make the needed changes.

I don't like being a tease, but this new direction has me excited and a lot more inspired.
