Palpatine will be in the winning list. Gauntlet Thrown.
What list wins Worlds 2015?

Palpmobile + 2 aces would make me almost as happy as triple squint
I honestly hope Dash or Han win it. Just because I feel like those players are so villified and at a disadvantage. I think it will be hard for Dash since I'm pretty sure Jeff B won't be at world's.
It sure would be nice to see the ships that have been strangling the diversity out of the game for the past 12 months continue to do so, it'd save us all the trouble of flying or buying anything else in the future.
With auto thrusters and big ship scoring I think it would be great to see them come out on top once again. Idk if I'd say strangling because I think they're pretty easy to beat with rebel fighters.
Another way to phrase the question.
What list do you hope will win?
What list will make you throw up in your mouth if it wins?
throw up is a strong word
but if yet another 2-ship build wins yet another high profile tournament I will develop a sudden onset of narcolepsy
even though that's probably what will win ![]()
as for hope...really any Wave 7 ship in the top spot would be cool
even just Miranda diluting fat han would be slightly less sleep-inducing than normal
Star Viper would be applause worthy

I will say between tlt, the ordinance bump and the scoring change ffg may have moved the needle too far against turrets, but dash at least will always be strong.
Just in case a new player happens onto this thread and doesn't know better, please allow me to emphasize: there are NO auto-lose scenarios between two 100 point lists. Some match ups may prove very challenging, but the phrase "auto lose" is absurd hyperbole that negates any valid point someone might try to make.
Back to the topic at hand, I predict the winning list will be Scum Boba + 50 points of friends.
Fly 4 Academy TIE Fighters against a 48 Point Super Corran. You've lost already.
"Over the top boys! We'll get the Krauts this time!". Your optimism is a pipe dream.
Good thing we are playing 100 pts, not 50 pts.
My argument is that by the time you've killed the fat turret with your swarm or any other list based around 'normal' ships except for perhaps BBBB(Z), there is a very high chance you no longer have enough ships even though you match in points on the table to actually have a chance of killing the remaining ship, or vise versa.
My point is that these ships with a bunch of power upgrades end up being more effective than their equivalent point value put into most normal builds, so when it's your 48 points vs. their super 48 points you've already lost if you're playing a 'normal' list.
I also like this semantics fight we're having. I say, 'autolose' and you with your optimism fetish say, "There are NO autolose situations. Just some that are very challenging." Oh man, got me there, what absurd hyperbole I'm using to describe 90/10 or 80/20 situations. *eye roll emoticon*
You have to remember that most of the game depends on the player's skill. Yes, no matter how skilled you are it always comes down to a dice roll but because of the luck factor, less skilled players still have a chance.
Their are a lot of squad Archetypes that could win worlds, though some squad Archetypes have a better chance than others. But it doesn't really matter because a lot of the game depends on the players skill who flies it. Sure it comes down to the luck of the dice roll but even if you take "The Best Squad Archetype" if someone more skilled than you is at the opposite end of the table, suddenly "The Best Squad Archetype" isn't the best any more. If your playing a mirror match against the same "Squad Archetype" it comes down to whoever is more skilled.
Also, remember that even if a player is more skilled than you, you can still beat them due to the luck factor.
And before I end this comment, remember to always keep the Phrase "Fly Casual" some where in your mind. It has helped me evaluate The pieces on the board easier in many games.

Remember, when discussing with ParaGoomba Slayer anything that isn't at least 6 academy tie fighters is horse **** cheating and using upgrades on aces makes the game boring. That argument doesn't care about reality or point total.

We should call the BBBB(Z) archetype 4B+12 so its clear that the 12 represents either upgrades or another ship.
I would like to see Corran prevail over TLTs. Or interceptors. Or a fire spray. I expect it will be 4 ship rebels, so many versions that work. I'm talking mixed squad, not TLTs only.
Winner: Brobots
I will endeavor to make your prediction come true!
Have you though of what amazing card you will create for us?

refits for Vipers and Defenders
I would like to see a super Corran 1-shotted by Lieutennant Blount and an Adv. Homing Missile.
Maarek's more likely to pull that off.
Boba and IG-B are going to take the day.
Palpmobile plus two aces. And just to be different it will be vader and whisper.
PTL aggressors
my educated guess...
Winner Paul Heaver with, well, whatever Paul wants really! Where he will immediately retire from competitive X-Wing. As they are raising his jersey into the rafters of the hallowed halls of FFG, he will announce that he is re-organizing FFG into the great Galactic Empire! It turns out Paul was the Sith Lord we were looking for all this time....
Top 8
2 BroBots (MJ, looking at you here)
3 Palpmobile lists (Shuttle plus 2 Aces)
2 5+ Ship Rebel list
1 TLT spam list, but only 2 or 3 TLTs, the Quads will not make the cut, too many people know about them and how to counter them...
drop the mic!
I'd change my previous statement: IG-A and IG-B are going to win worlds.
Them or a list that fare well against brobots that got lucky with pairings.
4 TLT or maybe a 3 TLT with a Unique build.
whoever wins it, I really don't think that his (or her) list will be the deciding factor throughout the whole tournament.
that said, as long as it's no fat han list, no dash/corran, no deci/soontir, I'll be a happy camper (concerning the list).
the meta is wide open, would be a shame if it's a list we have seen too much of.
One of the Berling brothers wins it
