Star wars fans and PT training

By Hexdot, in X-Wing Off-Topic

There are plenty of jokes about 4XL sized star wars themed T shirts... I do not know if this a false topic, or a real issue. I am not a slender guy, but I swim four times a week and do some training to burn the beers and kebabs. 195 ctms and 115 kg, fat not morbid. My game companions are, in general, a little overweight but we are a bunch of 40+ guys who work seated.

So...are you fit? Or are the jokes about Death Star sized SW fans ok?

I'm in ok shape. I go to the gym 3-5 days a week both for cardo and weights. But at 46 years, I'm well past the point where I'm going to easily erase all the bad things I did to myself.

But I bike 6k a day or 4.5-5k on the rowing machine (30 minutes on one or the other). I can bench 250ish lbs and do 100lbs curls which does make me in better shape than I have been in the last 10-15 years anyway.

Im not as fit as i used to be. In my 20s i was in the infantry and really *enjoyed* running and working out and was hyper fit.

I broke my back about 2000 and after that couldnt do anything impact related for ages, i could carry enough kit and walk/jog to do re-enactment/airsoft but proper fitness runs were out.

Also a weekends re-enacting left me in so much pain i couldnt walk for two or three days after.

Its got a lot better lately and im hoping i can start running again as im losing the tone in my muscles and because of nerve damage my left leg has atrophied a bit.

Still i'm 6'2" and my waist size is about 36", i can fit a medium tshirt but i dont have flat abs anymore so wear larger ones now! That not bad considering im 40 and my job means i work from home writing most the time so not a lot of scope for exercise.

:)

I'll be happy if i can get back down to 34" waist and flatten my stomach off.

Big re-enactors are the oddest btw... they nearly always choose to do airborne units or super high ranking officers and obsess about getting kit right while fundamentally looking totally wrong for the impression.

And its like something you can fix for free you know?

A lot of chinese repro wwii uniforms now come in immense sizes that you'd never have seen in reality

I'm completely out of shape, but am, and always have been, scrawny.

Certainly wouldn't say I'm fit, but I'm not fat by any means. Most of my exercise, I get through aikido.
However, I eat whatever tastes good instead of actually caring about myself. I should probably stop that before I start looking like my father.
