Minimalist Rebel List

By fecrid, in Star Wars: Armada

I have been thinking that lately there are more and more no squadron lists out there, so I came up with something crazy. I tried to fit as many ships in a list as possible without spending any upgrades and came up with this:

Assault Frigate-IIB

Mon Mothma

CR90-A

CR90-A

Nebulon-B Support

Nebulon-B Support

292 points

Objectives

Most Wanted

Fleet Ambush

Intel Sweep

Is this viable or is it doomed to be tabled. That's 5 ship activations! Death by a thousand cuts perhaps?

While the Assault Frigate is resilient it does not have many of the things that make it last longer.

As for being tabled, the thing many people forget is that this is a game of experience.

The more you play a list the better you get

Bingo. I had a match the other day against an Imperial player who plays regularly but whose normal opponents only ever play Rebel, and always want to be player two. So against my triple Gladiator list (yes, they're expensive. No, I'm not sure it's a good idea. Yes, it works against everyone I've tried it out on so far, though it can be a knife-edge thing and I have a limited pool of opponents) he did what he had experience doing, and jumped his VSD + Rhymerball into short range behind one of my gladiators.

Well, I was player one, so it was broadside + ACM + rear arc + ACM and then I moved out to long range. So he activated his VSD, fired, and then after moving was at short range of another gladiator. So, broadside + ACM + rear + ACM = RIP VSD. His gladiator went down the same turn, and that was it for his list. But that was entirely down to lack of experience, and for damned sure he's not going to make that mistake again.

You have speed and maneuverability, so tabling you would be difficult. Positioning is what you would need to utilize most. With an 8 point bid, you will be choosing. Initiative more often than not. How confident are you that you can use your objectives to assist you to a win?

I know Mikael Hasselstein likes it.

I admit I have not tried this list, but I will give it a good try and let y'all know how it goes.
