Any Good uses for the Damage Deck?

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

So I bought 2 coreset and got the two new damage decks. Not sure what to do with my old damage decks. I was actually thinking of just throwing them out.

Does anyone have an reason to keep them?

I cannot think of any?

Today is trash day, so I'm probably just going to chuck them.

Thanks

Obvious troll thread is obvious.

If you know people who only play casually they might want them. Otherwise recycle away.

Arrange the cards as a poster and frame it, although all the OCD people's would want the layout as 3x11 to avoid gaps.

You can use proton torpedo cards as filler too.

No not a troll thread. Serious question? Sometimes people have unique ideas for them, that I didn't think of.

Using them for Epic or something like that, not sure. I have so much Xwing stuff I'm throwing out target locks, focus token, etc, So I was just wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't throw out the old Damage Deck too.

Thanks,

They are flammable.

I can't think of any use.

keep them as they are required for tournaments until next year.

keep them as they are required for tournaments until next year.

Yeah, they're still mandatory until January.

Yeah! Thought of that but I'm not doing any tournaments until January.

Do you have any wobbly tables that need to be shimmed?

Doesn't take up enough space to be worth chucking. Hang onto it and it might come in useful some day.

Make a hat band.

Use them as hard backers for cards you are using as print-out proxies, as I have noticed that even with plastic protectors basic paper proxies don't have the rigidity of the originals.

Nice Skeve! I never even thought of that. Now I have a reason to keep them.

Thanks,

Hah! I've got a house full of crap because of thinking like that.

Chuck 'em; they're worthless, really. If you really need a use for them, scribble the name of the new critical effects onto the old ones that have been replaced (there's a news article here which explains the changes) and use it for casual play (or, if your deck is sleeved, print a copy of the new cards, glue them onto the old ones and put them back in the sleeves.

Keep them in case you ever get a big group of friends together to play. Like if you have Star Wars fans as friends, but they don't play the game. Maybe you get them together on a Saturday for a big cinematic game. Now you have some damage decks you can lend out, as well as ships.

Edit: spelling

Use them as extra non-critical damage cards for your next 6000 points game.

Pretty much this. IF you want to try make a proxy damage deck or have a damage deck with the old cards added to the new ones just to see the results then that is something you can do. Or maybe make up some new cards like lose <astromech> or <salvaged astromech> or lose <crew> or <modification> slot. But other than that there is no use for them.

Obvious troll reply is obvious.

fixed it :P

Take them to a strip club, and hell, just make them rain.

Build a hanger for your ships.

Actually. I gave them to my LGS. The Store owner wanted them for when they play epic big games. He said he would use them as basic damage cards, and draw critical hits from the new deck only.

I kept about 20 or so for creating proxies.

Thanks,

FINE!!! GO WITHOUT HAVING A GREAT HAT, THEN!!!

Would make some fun targets for .22's or BB guns...

This is my general approach to everything up to approximately the size of a four-door sedan.
