To retain your action, either for dropping mines, taking a focus for defence. boosting further if you have Engine Upgrade, for Eskege Tuketu's ability or taking a target lock to spend in future turns.

Can't get Engine Upgrades if you've got Adv SLAM; they're both modifications.

Could use an action-based Crew though, like Leebo.

If you slam but still end up in arc/ range, you can still take a focus.

Navigator gives you A LOT of options, but it also modifies your SLAM movement. I love navigator on Doni...almost a 9 health arc-dodger.

I also like Sabatour with advanced Slam. If you cannot attack, you can at least try to flip over damage cards.
