Corran and Dash have pretty much owned the Rebel meta for a while now. But after the new MOV ruling, i got to thinking: What about a SMALL ship point fortress with Corran? Or even just high-performance ship, like Poe Dameron, as his sidekick?
Let's get some discussion on these two lists, and what you would run if you had the choice.
100 pts
Corran Horn
PTL, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Fire Control System, R2-D2, Engine Upgrade
Poe Dameron
PTL, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, BB-8, Autothrusters, Weapons Guidance
OR
98 pts
Corran Horn
PTL, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Fire Control System, R2-D2, Engine Upgrade
Keyan Farlander
PTL, Autoblaster, Accuracy Corrector, B-Wing/E2, Kyle Katarn
Bear in mind that i don't fly B-Wings regularly, and even if i did, i probably don't have the cards to outfit them according to the B-Wing meta.
However, yesterday i flew a Wedge/Poe/Jake list against the Corran/Keyan list(In addition to the fact that my opponent had literally only learned the rules to the game a few hours ago,) and he wiped the floor with me. I know a few of you looked at the Torps and thought "WHAT???" but it just so happens that the second Corran had Poe at range 1, it was a 1 hit kill from full health when i failed to block anything, and took 2 crits to my hull and 1 was a direct hit. In fact, it's as simple as firing at range 1 to get a target lock, then double tapping to fire the torps to finish off what the lasers didn't. Wedge killed Keyan easily because 0 agility and because my opponent was not appreciative of the B-Wings dial, but Wedge was smoked against Corran, and Jake spent the rest of the game desperately trying to close to range 1 out of arc to get any amount of damage through. In a tourney match, he would have more than won on MOV.
Poe/Corran i havent tested, it's just a theory, that two arc dodging high performance ships would work together really well. I'm not convinced at all that replacing BB-8 with R5-P9 or something would make Poe better, as 90% of his effectiveness is being able to BR out of arc and commit 1 forward to catch an enemy at range 1 with a focus and a TL on when the opponent expected me to 2 turn directly in front of them. As well as being able to barrel roll away from an enemy, boost away, then commit a 3 forward to zoom out of range and still be able to focus at the end.
