4 ship Rebel build.

By rapatpamp, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I have been wondering if sometimes defense is better than offense so I came up with this list.

Assault Frigate B

Garm Bel Iblis

Engineering Team

Assault Frigate B

Engineering Team

Nebulon B Support Refit

Redemption

Leia Organa

Corvette B

Raymus Antilles

Tantive IV

Total = Edited now at 280 so room for some upgrades.

The way it works is that when Tantive takes an engineering command Raymus passes a token to an Assault Frigate.

Next you take the command as another token giving it to the second Assault Frigate.

Now when an Assault Frigate takes an engineering command they get 4points + 2points(token) + 1point(Redemption) + 1point(Engineering Team) = 8 points.

That's 4 shields , or 2 damage + a shield, ect.

Leia is there to help "tutor" a ship command if needed.

I don't know about the objectives yet but this seems really durable.

Any thoughts?

Edit: Shoot I looked at the upgrades wrong, can't take Engineering Teams :(

Down to 7 points to repair then.

Thats a really unique combo! I'm going to have to playtest that before I state an opinion.

As a side note. I'm not fond of Garm Bel Iblis. I think he should be less points for such a lack luster ability.

If you are going for survivability why not Mon Mothma instead of Garm? Also with no fighters I kind of hate not having any two dice anti fighter ships.

The only other problem I see is that you have to stay balled up which might hurt when you need to shoot and be really bad with some objectives. Overall though I am curious to see how it would go.

It's and interesting concept, but how are you planning on winning games? Killing enemy ships? Objectives?

Right now you have 4 ships, of three different types, that just wants to travel across the board in a cluster, regenerating lost shields.

Not saying it won't work, but you need to have a plan.

Yeah i haven't gotten that far lol.

It's a great theory/list-craft, I'd be interested in your playtest results. Aside from lacking some offensive punch, the other issue I see is that "instant" damage will still get your ships killed. A solid Gladiator salvo combined with a little supporting fire could still mean you lose a ship as you have no time to repair it between attacks. The trick I think to this strategy is to spread damage out (rotate which ships are in front) and try and make sure you can't take more than one round of fire before having a chance to flee or repair.
