Need an advice

By DonFrag, in X-Wing

Greetings.

Iam in need for an advice. A friend of mine is playing the follwing rebel list.
We are 4 different opponents against him and we all have absolutely no to little chance for winning. We treid a lot of options. Big ships, small ships, ion, stress, factions...

By now we are out of ideas. Has anyone a good recipe to beat such stats or any other good advice?

Thanks in advance.

B Wing:
Blue Squadron Pilot (22) x 3
K Wing:
Warden Squadron Pilot (34) K-Wing (23), Extra Munitions (2), Bombardier (1), Seismic Charges (2), Conner Net (4), Advanced SLAM (2)

*Bump*

Problem still remaining. Counterswarming often failed because of dice rolls. Any other Options?

One of the weak points I see in the squad is the low agility. So go for 2 atack dice swarms like Tie fighters or Z95 (plus one ace pilot to counter other lists too)

Your mate's list has a lack of agility and a lack of high manouvering. Echo IG88E: Go for a swarm and overwhelm him. Or perhaps a 3 ship 'ace' build? Fel, Carnor, and Turr should be able to out fly this squad and tear them apart. Target the K-Wing first to remove the turret and then just stay out of the B-Wings' arc.

I'd try this. The Autothrusters will assist with dodging the K-Wing's turret, and the TCs will help maximise your hits.

Your friends list also has a low-ps problem. You could try:

2 x Sigma Squadron pilot, FCS, ACD and Intel agent.

Soontir Fel, ptl, autos and stealth.

99 pts. I think

Take the K out first.

Use something with Predator. I have flown a very similar list and was destroyed by Sensor Jammers IGs with Predator.

Two workable options:

4x Rebel Operatives with Twin Laser Turret and Recon Specialists.

Ideally, your opponent gets initiative and shoots at you first. If not, be disciplined and keep your focuses for defense, his ships only have 1 agi, so a 3 attack unmodified shot is very likely to hit a 1 agi ship. With 2 focuses for defense your Rebel Operatives will last for quite a while. You will want to control range and keep your exchanges at Range 3 for as long as you can. He will get no defensive bonus at range 3 against the TLTs and you will get a range bonus against his primary weapon. If you can engineering it, you will only want 1 or two of his Bwings in Range 3 of your ships if possible, but that may be difficult. I'd ignore the Warden early, he has some bombs, but they aren't too terrible for your list to just eat if you have to. The Warden doesn't have any type of turret upgrade, so his 2 attack will take some time to get through your 2 defense with focus, I'd kill the warden last, the Bwing are his damage dealers. If you can get 4 TLTs on one Bwing, you may just kill it in one round of shots.

Or,

I would try 4 Daggers and 4 Talas. All PS4. Just straight up joust him. If you are lucky you'll kill one of his Bwings before it ever shoots. You'll definitely be able to kill one before it ever gets a second shot off. Then just redirect fire to the other 2 Bwings. You should come out of that joust with at Least 3 ships to take out the Warden with. I'd probably expect to have 4 ships to deal with the Warden. You should be able to take out the Warden. One of the best ways to deal with a PS2 list is to take a PS3+ list to trump his PS and get kills before his ships ever shoot.

Jonus + 3 Gammas or 4 Gammas will take care of this.

Or even try the notorious Obsidian Squadron.

Or even try the notorious Obsidian Squadron.

Jonus isn't needed anymore with Extra Munitions and Homing Missiles.

You can also go with a Fat Turret and Engine Upgrade. Do the classic arc dodge and shoot. Fat Han or Deci-Soontir list can work. While I dislike them, you are desperate to defeat him. Just make sure to bait him into attacking your fat turret straight on. Then, you turn hard and boost out of his arc. Repeat this while you shoot at him.

Big ship boost should tear that right up, kill the k before it can conner net you and I don't think he'll get arc again
