new to black crusade

Hi i have just gotten the dark crusade core rule book and i am having trouble reading through the fluff to find the rules for everything i cant even figure out how to create a character could you please help ?

Hoi, welcome to the forums and the game. :)

Character generation begins on page 46. It's true that there is a lot of "fluff" between the rules, but the various stages listed on page 47 should give you a good idea of how to approach the creation of your character. The fluff is also somewhat important for a "proper" portrayal of your character, helping you to define the role you'd want to fill within your group, so it's certainly not wrong to study it.

The rulebook is big and bulky, and the system is somewhat convoluted, even cluttered -- but take some time to read through everything until chapter VIII. It will pay off in the long run.

And if you have specific questions, I'm sure the people here are happy to help.

hey sorry for takeing so long to reply but i have tried doing as you say but i am still haveing trouble would you mind giveing me the bare bones of the rules please i would be increadibly grateful if you could

The rules are at your fingertips, in the book. :)

Which particular things are you having issues with?

XP? Talents? Archetypes?, etc.

to be honest my problem is getting the rules out of the fluff and i know the rules are there just not sure what is part of a rule and what is fluff

i also have no clue for how to play the main game

Chapter I and II first read all of it. (Basic Mechanics and Char Gen)

If you are familiar with it try to make a Character concept.

after you done with it post here your concept...

Until some one reply feel free to read and learn more or less the rules you may use with it (all over chaptar I&II and what you nead from III and IV)

The barest bones combat explanation:

1. roll initiative (1d10+agility bonus)

2. First person up has two half actions or a full round action to make

(typical combos)

a. move and shoot

b. charge make a single melee attack

c run

d. two weapon attack

3. make the attack

a. attacker rolls 1d100 and notes his degrees of Sucess

b. defender parries/dodges using up their reaction, rolls 1d100 and notes Dos

c. Defender negates 1 hit per DoS

4. repeat for person 2.
