Been told this morning by my FLGS that Esdevium Games (the UK distributor of X-Wing) had informed them that Wave 8 + the standalone TFA Expansions is being released in November.

Seems crazy early to me after the glut of new stuff we've had over just the last couple of months (Raider, Wave 7, TFA Core Set). For the first time I'm considering not splurging on everything on release and maybe waiting until after Christmas.

It's not particularly the money (although the missus will certainly be less than impressed), more that I'd actually like to have time to play with and get to know all the other recently released stuff first.

Last I saw W8 is still at the printers. Add 6-8 weeks on the boat... I doubt we'll see before Christmas. I'm hoping for Jan/feb at the earliest personally...

My LGS gets all of its English X-Wing stuff from probably the same supplier in th UK and has stated the same. Actually the guys at my shop asked me a few days ago if I wanted to preorder wave 8 (this distrutor only takes preorders 6-8 weeks before they get it, and they've yet to disappoint me) and I told them that I'd take one of each but would only pick it up around Christmas. This is the first time I find myself outright hoping for delays, for the same reasons you stated.

Everyone suspects that they want to get it out to the gaming community before the post-TFA Christmas rush wipes out stock.

Seems early to me and I'd much prefer it to be after Christmas but I'm only passing on what I've been told.

We've heard this in other threads and forums too so it might be true but I agree seems way too soon. Hopefully they slow down after this glut of releases.

The fact that it is still listed as in Development however makes me doubtful. While we know they're not always prompt with updating the Upcoming Page that doesn't mean its always wrong either.

When's EpVII out again? I'm guess that either The Mouse or the marketing department are leaning on the supply chain to make sure the ships are out without the usual level of delays.

Late November or the first couple weeks of December probably. So 8-10 weeks. 8 new ships. Time for previews already!

Mid December for the film release. 17th in Australia.

I think its highly likely Disney is requiring all manufacturers to have their Force Awakens merchandise out before the film screens so to allow time for distribution to retail outlets. Seeing as Wave 8 has Rebels ships in it as well I suspect FFG is burning the midnight oil to meet the release date.

I would have expected the new T70 and tie/FO individual packs to be out, since most of the design process(minis) was complete, surprised on the remainder, since doing the minis does take time with the molds and such.

Star Wars interest is at a new if recent high due to the movie - of course everything Star Wars will be pushed onto the market around that opening. Makes sense from a business standpoint.

From a player standpoint, January / February is fine with me, but if they come out in Nov / Dec, then I will buy some then and then some later, not all at once as usual. Why? Because there will be OTHER Star Wars stuff I will want as well!

I think that what it means is that ONLY the two Ep7 ships will be available in Nov since they have already been printed for the core set. The rest will follow later. Maybe grouping them with wave 8 is more gimmick than schedule.

Wave 8 will be out altogether. When is the question and if it does come this early my entire Christmas wish list will be Star Wars stuff.

I can see trying to get stuff out to capitalize on the movie hype.. Just don't see it happening unless they got some new Stateside manufacturers..

A little too soon for me. My wallet can handle only 2 waves a year. This has been a pretty busy spending year with 2 waves, 2 large ships, and a new starter.

Wave eight will be cheap for me only need to spend £35.

Definitely want that Inquisitor TIE. I MUST form "The Bad News Barons" with Fel and Rudor!!! We don't even know what Rudor does yet, but I don't care. The question will be if I can squeeze in a pair of generic "Barons" as well...

I assume it'll be released right after Worlds, with some material for sale or on preview AT Worlds! Or at least that's my hope. They surely won't release it in time to be playable at Worlds, right?
