Questions about other Clone Templates than Jango Fett

By RodianClone, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

After the Battle on Kamino in 12 BBY, the empire started using a verity other templates than Jango Fett, and then opened for human recruits in 9 BBY.

Are there any of these templates specified? Do you think the new canon will eventually specify some or all of them? I hope that the majority or at least a considerable number of these templates will remain vague or nameless. That way fans, GMs and players can come up with their own templates, npc`s and characters with a lot more freedom and still not break canon and continuity(not that it necessary matters to most people).

I am making a character for my broters very first game today, Age of Rebellion, and I want to be a cloned ex-snowtrooper medic, but maybe(?) not based on a Jango Fett template.

I guess clones after Kamino and BBY 12 had accellerated aging too, so If`m 12, it`s likely I look 24? It`s really up to me and my gm of course, but I would like to hear what others who are more into canon and even EU thinks....

Edit: Bonus question --> how is Connection: Empire a motivation? I can see how it fits my character, but how does it motivate him, how do I "use" it?

Very cool! Thank you:) Do you know if there is anything on prime clones in canon or if it is all still very open and vague?

I wouldn't worry too much about what may or may not become cannon. There's a huge amount of cloning in the Star Wars universe, both EU and new cannon, there won't be anything released that will directly contradict anything you choose to invent. It sounds like you have a concept you like and will enjoy so go with it.

The Empire can be a motivation in numerous ways. If your clone is AWOL then obviously he'll be wanted by them. Also as he's a clone his face will be recognisable by lots of Imperial forces who may have met another of his clones before, which could be a major problem for him (and thus a great Obligation). Obviously he's just one clone amongst many templates, not all Imperials will have worked with one of his fellows before (I't s abig Galaxy) but he'll never be sure in advance that any given Imperial won't recognise him and try to arrest him as an AWOL clone.

Thanks, I will:)

All that would work great for an Obligation, but I am asking about Motivation.

Btw. we are using AoR and duty.

Oops, sorry, wasn't paying attention. Ok, well, what is his motivation? He left the Empire and joined the Rebels (I'm guessing) so... why?

Doesn't matter about the gene stock.... I bet they still miss a barn door at 10 paces

Motivation is a hook that helps you roleplay your character and can give you extra xp if you follow it. I chose the one called Connection: the Empire because it really fits my backstory, it even describes how your character used to belong to the Empire. But I`m not sure how I would play it as a motivation and how I might "use" it and follow it.

"This is a degree of Truth in Television, as by far most shots fired in firefights or combat are misses. Some sources report that in WWII, the average soldier needed to fire two hundred rounds for every hit scored on an enemy; numerous other examples are mentioned in the Real Life section of this page. So the fictional bad guys don't actually suffer from unrealistic inaccuracy; rather, the heroes' fictional performance would count as Improbable Aiming Skills in real life."

Sorry, I wasn't asking what Motivation was in-game. I meant, what is the motivation of your character? Not the thing you picked off the list, but the reason behind him doing what he is doing. As a cloned Stormtrooper he's clearly been trained and conditioned to be loyal to the Empire, so what happened to him to change his mind? Was he a defective clone, did his conditioning not stick or maybe he saw or even did something so upsetting it broke through to him.

His Connection:Empire is that he was at one point a snowtrooper, what you're really looking for is why he -left- the empire. If he is a GAR clone, that is pretty simple, when they replaced Jango as the gene-father to the clones, the quality in training/cloning process degraded producing sub-par clones and your honor was offended that the Empire would need to turn to other sources, so you left the service, and perhaps (just spitballing here) came to hate your Non-Clone superior officer and joined up with the Rebellion for some payback.

He was a snowtrooper medic. His nickname is Mask becuase he discovered his passion for disguise and make-up while in training as a medic, using fake blood and make-up for exercises.

He is a soldier Medic + Force Sensetive Emergent, so he might have left because he found out or suspected he was Force Sensetive and afraid he would be found out or he wanted to be free and work on his disguisees or he understood that all Clones are born into slavery and therefore wanted to fight the system.

Ok, it sounds like you've found your motivation. He wants to free the other clones that are being kept as slave soldiers by the Empire. That's really good stuff. Sounds like he's going to have a hard time shooting at Stormtroopers. I foresee stun settings in his future.

Yea, I actually wrote down: "Kill non-clone officers, save or spare clones".

You guys have been helpful. thanks!
