I personaly don't see why anyone is thinking that buying the IP means that FFG has any interest in continuing the marketing promotions that have nothing intrinsic to do with the IP.

I think you'll find that many are hoping, reasonably or otherwise, that FFG is going to meet the explicit, implied or assumed obligations of AEG where it comes to L5R. Which is silly, but also very predictable.

As a note, AEG is still redeming koku. So if you got it, use it. Get trade bait to finish your 1ed sets.

When I saw they were selling Doomtown Reloaded and the first expansion for koku, I was pretty excited. Now I see it is about $30 in shipping. Amazon is selling the same for about $20. Seems like a really bad deal. Am I missing something?

The fact that they didn't have to offer you jack for your koku.

So, spend $30+100 Koku on the Imperial Assembly, or spend $20ish for the exact same thing on Amazon?

Seems like they're not "offering" anything for koku.

The "Sheriff Bundle" is 500 Koku and $50, which is actually a savings, even compared to Amazon options. The "Deputy Bundle" is just a bad deal all around (about $30 after shipping, which is the same as AEG's deal, except you get to use your Koku on other stuff if you want).

I caught that, thanks. I appreciate your thoughtful and constructive message.

I noted that it looked like a bad deal compared to Amazon even if no koku was involved. For example, if I went to Amazon and paid $20 for the same, it would be a better deal than paying AEG $30 (and 100 koku, but the koku does not matter).
