So I'm playing a Correlian Mechanic/ Force Sensitive Emergent who is, hopefully, going to fall to the dark side. 2 sessions in a row despite my best efforts I gained morality ![]()
Having 6 and 7 conflict at the end of both sessions. Then you hope your opponents slightly damage you so you can suck the life out of them with Harm Control lvl2, you don't get the 2 dark side points necessary and your opponents blow your left leg off instead(making the Gank jealous).
First world force problems
You know, if there's a story arc that you are trying to tell, random rolls be damned - just slowly whittle away at the morality without the dice. Work with the GM instead of leaving it up to fate.
I really dislike having conflict and morality be mechanically defined. I think a characters light vs. dark side status and story arc should be negotiated. The game-master and players should discuss these character elements and handle them narratively. The reason is simple: these are critical character-driven story elements. The heroes journey of both Anakin and Luke Skywalker hinges on the dichotomy of the struggle between light and shadow. It is not, properly understood, a part of structured turn-based play. Its a character and narrative element of the Star Wars saga(s). You may need a metric for it (to determine paragon status), but you don't need a mechanic for it. Personally, it would be best not to let the dice decide.
Edited by VondyThis is why at the end of a session I always ask my players WHY their morality went the way it did. If they don't give me a good answer, it stays where it is.
