My LGS is the FFG GC, so they already get money no matter where I make my purchases from, and I patronize them anyway because they have a hella good kitchen.
My purchasing partner grabbed from Miniature Market.
I'll probably purchase most of our additional stuff online, but we'll see the markup at the FLGS. I'd guess the smaller ships are more likely to be bought locally than the big ones as has been the case with other ships I've already bought from them.
2 to 3 stores local.
I always start with one of each from the FLGS. Any more I buy is usually from there if he has the stock or online if there is a really good sale, or I need a bit more for free shipping.
as much as I hate to say it online. The cost difference is just to great. After tax I'm looking at around a $40 dollar difference.
I don't mind a $5 markup. But my AF I bought cost me $15 over Amazon and that was with a discount!
That being said, their prices on X Wing products are much closer to online prices.
Some from my flgs and anymore online.
don't have a Flgs so on line for 30% off list and free shipping.
Local all the way.
Local of course. Pay where you play.
For me, it depends how I get the money... At the moment, I've got nothing, and won't get anything other than what I might win at Sullust...
... if Shapeways works, then I'll probably have some dollars to get things online.
... if I get access to another Local 3D Printer, and get things rolling that way, I might be able to get something at the Sentry Box, but I'm also very aware of the Canadian Exchange Rate at the moment.
If your going to play at a store then you need to support that store and buy there. If everyone buys online to save a few bucks there won't be anywhere to play! I always try and buy local and if they can't get it then go online but game stores have to be supported IMOP
Online, or in stores. Where ever I find them when I have the money. Not planning on going overboard. Probably a single ISD and maybe a couple Raiders. Maybe.
Some local, some online. Picked up a second GSD today from Gamers Haven. Immortals Inc. will most likely supply a second AF MKII. I buy something every time I go into a FLGS, even if it's just paint. I cant justify a 30% markup on everything, but for the doubles, I support local shops.
My FLGS. Because if I don't support them, then they won't be around, and then I've got nowhere to play.
Other than singles for games like Heroclix or Dice Masters, I buy everything I can at my FLGS.
I've already seen way too many game shops in my area close down to worry about saving a couple of bucks here and there, I just figure it's my paying rental space for the gaming tables, and I've definitely gotten my money's worth.
At my "Some what grump, but mostly friendly, local game store".
May win some instead of buying.
I will be buying it at my local store I will be buying two ISD Two raiders and 1 of the rogue and villains pack I'm hoping they will cut me a discount if I pre pay if not then odds are I will be buying my stuff online cu I feel wave two will be out the week I'm away.
I'll be buying from my local games store ![]()
Why is the question asked in the future tense? I bought my Wave 2 months ago at my FLGS.
Of course, they won't arrive for a while, but I already bought them. ![]()
I'll say, however, that if I pre-ordered R&V then I don't quite recall doing so. (As I'm sometimes a bit forgetful... oh the things I've done to my brain in my life... that doesn't necessarily mean that I didn't pre-order them.) But I've also got the least amount of enthusiasm for that expansion. I just prefer Empire to the be Empire. I'm with Admiral Piett on that score.
Edited by Mikael HasselsteinNormally, I would say my FLGS. But he's been having issues getting stuff lately. I've had a corvette, nebulon, rebel squadron, and movement tool ordered for about a month now and they still aren't in.
So more than likely, it's going to be from the Warstore.
Amazon, as with everything else I buy from outside China.
If you have amazon prime, they ship UPS to the middle of nowhere in western China for about 10-20 quid.... and the ships are still cheaper than at the local store in England. How Amazon make a profit off me I have no idea.
My fingers are SO crossed that they will be available on barnes and Noble.com. I have a ton of gift cards:(
Local. Buying On-line has become a no win now that the Canadian dollar is not above the US one. Between exchange rate, shipping, and possible border fees, the Internet has lost all my business.
I preordered most of my stuff stateside from an online retailer before the loonie took a nosedive off the deepend of an empty pool. It saved me about 33%-ish, including taxes and shipping. Of course, I've also been waiting since spring and watching the date get rolled back, just like everyone else.
I don't have a FLG, the closest one is more than an hour away. Plus, there is no Armada night and no Massing of Sullust event nearby. I'd love to support a nice, thriving, 'friendly' store, but with that copious amount of support and those ultra-fair prices, I'll buy out-of-country. But I won't go to the usual US hangouts as the shipping is downright murderous (and the moment UPS, or especially that DHL comes into the picture as carriers, I wash my hands of it and walk away).
It's got nothing to do with FFG, I love 'em. But this is sort of an example of where I am: I once ordered a pair of identical items (with a few exclusive sundries): one from Great Britain (about 4,000 miles) and an identical one from Edmonton (about 60 miles away). Guess which one arrived first and was cheaper in both postage and item-price? This was not an altogether aberrant occurrence.
I guess I'll have to wait for the Britannia to get some of those squiddy space subs in before I pick up everything else I want.
