As the topic said Sonic Screwdriver. I know the thing can not scan wood (Lucky Groot) and not open deadlocks what other things can it do or do not in Star Wars?
A Sluissi Mech wants to make one some help please?

Can be specifically targeted via threat or a gm using up advantages or a critical effect rather than target the wielder...
Can be good into unusability until cleaned.
Can store as an algorithm say a wooden door and after say 4 centuries can reduce said door to dust.
Just don't mention timelord art and cup-a-soups since those crystalline stasis cubes look WAY too much like Holocrons... so all those ancient realistic 3d paintings used to have lots of figures in them... what do you mean where are they?
And why does it look like someone broke OUT of the painting of an ancient Sith's tomb?

Can't exist in Star Wars. The Sonic Screwdriver is a plot device, a do-anything tool explained by not explaining it. It's tech magic. Star Wars doesn't go to anywhere near the same extremes of "just go with it" as Doctor Who does.
The closest thing Star Wars can do is an astromech droid.
Edited by Blue FiveThere will be Limited uses it will be able to do. And Copperbell the door was not locked.
Yes does that count as threat or a despair result on a Perception check?
Gooed not good, sigh spellchecker strikes again!
I'm inclined to agree with Blue Five. In order to port the Sinic Screwdrive, you need to define what it can do. And the Sonic Screwdriver doesn't really have a box (set of rules) it lives in.
Sentinal:Artisan -> Mental Tools + GP sensor + Stun attachment.
That about sums up the Sonic Screwdriver in SW terms.
On second thought, the best way to port over the Sonic Screwdriver is to use it as a narrative way to describe a creative use of a destiny point. The DP is the only thing fluid and verbose enough to cover what the Sonic Screwdrive can do.
You know, the funny thing? There are actually sonic screwdrivers in the universe. There was a Star Wars Adventure Journal that listed some of the tools that every good spacer needs in his tool box, and it listed a hydrospanner, a power prybar and a sonic screwdriver.
Mind you, it didn't actually have any stats, so no actual game effects or anything.
As for what it does in the game? Have it add a blue to skullduggery when picking locks, computers when hacking, and mechanics when repairing goodies. Have it add a black if someone points it at races that are audio sensitive.
So you're basically going to give one of your players a "do almost anything" plot device from another universe?
Naah, I'd say just make it a literal sonic screwdriver... it can tighten and loosen screws of various kinds using sonic waves.
Literally a "sonic screwdriver"
I am not sure a sonic screwdriver would fit in this system but if you were looking to create a "Doctor" I'd say the Engineer/Scientist spec looks perfect and maybe give him a stun blaster. Between Careful Planning and Utility Belt I think you could simulate what he does.
