Hey all,

So I need some advice on my next epic purchase. I currently own an Imperial Raider which I love but never get to use. Whenever I get to play x-wing at home I usually supply all the ships and cards for friends and as I don't own any rebel epic ships it's a little tricky to use my raider. I have decided to rectify this situation. Now, I almost exclusively play Empire or Scum. I buy rebel ships for other people to use so I'm not OVERLY in need of c3po or crew r2d2. With that in mind, which rebel epic ship would y'all recommend?

The GR75 is actually pretty fun to run as a jammer, but it's unarmed.

The CR90 however is a broadside beast.

Which of those sounds better to you?

We've been having a blast with CR-90 vs Raider epic play. The Transport is fun, but battles with the two gunships just seem better.

both are fun, use the CR-90 for your broadsides, or use the transport as a jammer/battering ram, so long as you can have fun with it it's worth either one.

Well it depends on do you want to play more epic or standard. The rebel transport has more standard play with its own X-wing and x-wing upgrades that allows for some good combinations such as stress bot R3-A2. The CR-90 only has crew upgrades to be used but those crew also include C-3PO and R2-D2 both good upgrades especially with the latest errata on large ship MOV.

If this is only for Epic than I would say CR-90 all the way. You get all the cool range 5 attacks, plus Han Solo<crew> which actually allows the CR-90 to hit (huge ships cannot use focus so eyeballs are misses for them). I know this is coming from someone who made a GR-75 conversion kit for scum but it is an unofficial kit so if you want to use the transport in a Scum list you will need to ask the other players first.

The transport will always pull it's weight as the support for your other ships. It's the best epic ship in the game. Having said that, it's a lot more fun to slug it out with 2 huge ships than to run your raider against a swarm with a transport.

I don't know how the transport and fighters would fare against the raider. It seems possible that the raider might eat it up, depending on how the raider is equipped that is.

Remember the Transport comes with that X-wing pack, which includes some of its best pilots and astromechs.

Transport's definitely the way to go because of all the X-wing crap. It's also pretty cost effective if you don't overload it.

I'd say the transport is the better choice. It's cheaper, comes with some VERY useful upgrades for standard play, and it's also a much better starting point for Epic. It can get a little overwhelming trying to figure out how to use the corvettes - the transport is a lot simpler to use and will help you learn the Epic ship rules.

Don't forget slicing tools! add that with stresscausing stuff, laugh as high agility TIE Interceptors evaporate.

CR-90, it is more similar to the raider, thus can have a "flag ship" for each faction.

If you already have the Raider, I would definitely say get the CR-90. Epic games are much more interesting when both sides have an equivalent investment in Epic Corvettes.

Try to grab a GR-75 transport once the Gozanti is out.

Yeah, but he was using the special 40-point "Sith Lord" EPT, that allows all of your attacks to deal 10 faceup cards through shields.

We're not going to get that EPT until at least wave 10.

If you are looking for a ship to specifically counter the raider, you should get the CR90. GR75 vs raider is no fun for the rebel player. However the Transport is the better ship of the two. not only for the xwing and cards, but the havoc it can wreck on the small ships when not being used as target practice by the raider is devestatingly awesome.
