"That was freaking awesome, where did you get these ships?"
Funny things you hear after a game.
"Well that just happened"
After turning what should have been a loss into win
Or
"Thoes ******* ***** ***** ****** dice"
Or
"I want to go home and rethink my life"
In our gaming group we always have a big discussion after our games, pretty much everytime this one guy states "yeah but my dice rolling was terrible". I doubt he loses 90% of his games because of his dice rolling. Even in games where my dice rolling is the worse, his luck in his opinion was far inferior. I really enjoy the what ifs after a game, discussing why things happened, mistakes made etc. but when every discussion with said member turns in to a dice pitty session... I do find it amusing how someone can be in such denial!
"I'm not playing my usual list, this is a new experimental class and my first time using it. Need to make a few changes" but this was the same comment stated as before, last month and by the same guy and exact same setup. Yep ok mate, good game eh!
"F'ing red/green dice."
Because no matter what, it's always the fault of the dice if you get nailed with something you didn't expect.
hey, I don't expect full health Whisper to get one-shot at range 3 by a 3-die primary, but it still happens and it's definitely not my fault
So 4 hits against 7 evade dice... What could go wrong? The autoceptor had a focus and evade, and it had 3 hull.
The autoceptor rolled ALL BLANKS. Not a single focus or evade. There goes that autoceptor.

I had a friend who played epic and a Tantive shot his autoceptor (royal guard pilot, ptl, AT, stealth device), which killed it with 4 hits, at range 5 (3 extra evade dice), through a rock (1 extra evade dice) and with 4 base evade dice.

your friend got lucky, as the autoceptor rolled 2 too many green dice. (range 3+ only add one green dice total)

I had the exact same thing happen with fel, range five six green die all blanks.
Never trust in green dice.

Edit: yeah I never fly a ship that can roll more than three dice, except, you have to admit, tolanbane is just fun to fly...
Edited by bcons"One more game?"
Not after a game but after flying Psycho Tycho. "Let me see those cards". This was after evading firing arcs to end up at R1 of his shuttle after turning 180°. This was second time I flew As and the first for Tycho. My opponent was amazed that I could perform that series of maneuvers with all the stress attached to Tycho.
"Flying your ships off the board is an interesting tactic but I'm not sure it's working for you."
I get awful greedy sometimes...
"I want to go home and rethink my life"
Awesome! I laughed outloud!
Also, I have a bad habit of during the match saying, "Well, I just threw this game away." And then a round later my opponent is struggling to get shots, and is losing ships left and right. So instead I've started being slightly less pessimistic with a simple, "I have a bad feeling about this."
Edited by Parakitor"Yeah, I probably shouldn't have flown Bossk straight into the side of your Raider..."
Was a 450 point epic match with 6 players 150 points each. To toot my own trumpet, I did declare to my team mate that I was going to angle back to try and ram him 2 turns before hand. It was a proud moment for the empire.
Edited by Pimpbacca"That was the most obnoxious B-Wing ever" - after running Ibtisam with Sensor Jammer and Elusiveness
"I wanted that cheese so badly" - after chasing Tycho half the game after taking out his shields, and without killing him
"I thought you were joking with that four Y-Wings thing" - after the first time I ran the Thug Lyfe build, which no one had done before in my local meta
"Arc dodging... with a Y-Wing?" - mid game, some random guy passing by on seeing me use Kavil with PtL and Engine Upgrade to arc dodge a ship
Only heard this once, but "Wow, no wonder so many people run dual Firesprays."
"Your acrylic target lock tokens are unfair
"
True, since I have them i have only lost 2 games xD Now it's a running gag.
Normally I just get a "huh, never thought of that before"
Most recent one was giving Echo Push the Limit with Stygium. Decloak for the Evade & PTL into a focus, then do a green maneuver to clear it, and either recloak if I don't think I'll have a shot--stay put if I like my spot--or barrel roll to try to arc dodge.
I'd give that Echo a Recon Specialist too, that way I always have my focus for defense. It essentially gave her 4 actions a turn without stress.
EDIT: This is then shortly followed by what has been said already. Discussing strategy afterwards is always a good idea.
Advanced sensors as well I am guessing?

Lemme guess, you have played three games since"Your acrylic target lock tokens are unfair

No, more like 10-12 Games ^^

Edited by RougeLeaderHi,
normaly i hear:" good game, i m looking foreward for a rematch!"
I normaly only play with my friends. And my friends dont have a problem to lose a game. Neither do i. And if i lose (what happens more often, then i win) i say the sentence above.
Of course i heard other phrases, like:"this game is so unbalanced, the newer ships are just better" or "against such a powergamer list is no fun to play at all"
But this means, that i will not play against this person again. Why? Because if he dindt have fun, why should i force him to NOT have fun. And second: If an opponent starts complaining, i can not enjoy my victory, nor the game.
To now, there are 3 players that are on my "dont play against him" list.
Greetings
H
Within my gaming community its pretty much always 'Well played' is the first thing heard after a match.
Followed by something like "I really like your (ship)-setup" or "I'd never thought of that".
We have a lot of players who only collect a small amount of ships from one or 2 factions and so don't have every upgrade card. only a couple of us are completionists and have 1 (or in my case 2 or 3) of everything, so it is common for players to come up against something they've not played before.
Oh and a personal favourite to hear after a match"**** bombs! Emon is crazy!" ![]()

Not necessarily.
Stygium lets you perform an evade action you can PtL off of. Advanced Sensors wouldn't benefit you because you'd be stressed thanks to the PtL at the start.
You could, if you'd like more options, but I think you'd be better off with FCS or Sensor Jammer.
"How on Earth did that game last so long?"
I feel like every game I'm in ends up over an hour and a half. :-P
