That Tie Hunter is a nice looking Fighter.
Be good to use the Defender for that, decent cockpit section and three pairs of wings to modify into the shape you need ![]()
And Thanks

" The Sith Has a brand new ride "
Among all of the other Modification's I have on my Desk.....and there are a lot !
Im also working on some more Imperial Fighters.
Although for these I had the idea of them being vessels for the Sith or Inquisitors.
Its pretty obvious what the yellow parts are....Anakins Jedi Starfighter.
I bought lots of kits a few years ago for doing this very thing.....modding and cannibalizing.
they are just at the first stage, but will be adding lots of surface detail and other goody's to them over the next week.......
Ill post a few more pics soon once i have the next stage done.
All the best,

Getting close to finishing the SITH Heavy Fighter.
Spent all afternoon today Cutting and Sanding any part that looked right and would fit for the look
I was after on the model.
bits of all sorts here, Back radiator panels of a Republic gunship, inner panels from a Tie Advanced,
The main body is the Side wing of a Jedi Starfighter and the Cockpit is from a Tie Defender along
with reshaped panels from a Tie Fighter.
Using the panels from a Standard Tie for the main wings and upper stabilizers, gives it a Bat Wing look.....sort off.
with out the upper stabilizers it looked the the original Cylon Raider ![]()
more detail to add and a fine sanding surface finish, and then spray it with grey primer to see how it
looks.
Edited by Barry Harkernearly there.
need to do some fine sanding and tidying up in places, add some final surface detail
and then think about the what sort of colour this ship will be.
It will be used in game as a Tie Defender, after all. I still have the dial and cards left over from cutting these models up.
but I may end up using the card modifier and come up with a new ship class and stats
All the best,
Barry ![]()
Hey Barry, would you mind showing some more pictures of your Interceptor aces? I can't tell any of them apart, except one, and Which ones go with which pilots?
How did you do the mk2? I really like the look of it...I am curious about what the stats would be for such a ship
Hello Sir Orrin,
I will take some photos this weekend of the aces i painted separately so you can see what they look like.....although it will be Sunday as i'm off to see
Episode 7 on Saturday
And Green Monkey, I will post some photos of the Mk2 as well and show you what parts i used to make the model....basically, the solar wings from a Defender and Phantom......I have cut up a good few models to get the look i'm after !
Show ya the weekend.
All the best,
Barry.

Hey Green Monkey,
Here is a bit of an insight as to How I made my Mk2 Tie Advanced.
it took Four models in total, but I was in the process of converting other Tie Fighters.
so if your prepared to cut models up, then its easy enough to do........
I have now managed to use all of the Tie body's........and still have spare parts left over.
mainly wings.
but they do make for something Different..........
All the best,
Barry ![]()
I really like the Idea of giving Normal Tie Pilots paint jobs!
Every Tie I have looks ever so slightly different (the difference is VERY small) but I can tell them apart, so certain unique Pilots have certain ties I always use for them.
I'm weird ![]()
Hey Orrin
There's nothing weird about that at all.
Infact I think it's great you have each one a little different.
That personal touch for each pilot.
My models are going that way.
There are some great Imperial cards to model too.
For instance.
The new Tie pilots in the Gozanti set.
They are a great set to get to grips with as well.
And individualy model there fighters
All the best.
Barry.
Amazing work Barry. I'm inspired to do something different with my Tie repaints
nearly there.

Aww, it's a TIE Butterfly :3
Excellent work!
Ha Ha Tie Butterfly ![]()
Thanks SpaceInvader.
Lambda Shuttle Re-paint.
Had this one for Christmas ![]()
But I was never a fan of the white paint finish, especially along with the FFG messy paint job and inking that looked more
like the shuttle had buckets of oil thrown over it ! way to heavy for the scale.
and I like the Imperial Vehicles looking clean.
So I sprayed the Model Black, then a light over spray of grey primer. and drybrushed a lighter grey to highlight the panels.
I then used a fine 0.05 fine liner graphic pen to draw around and in between the panels.
finished of with some blood stripes and a masked up Imperial logo,
Amazing work Barry. I'm inspired to do something different with my Tie repaints
Hey Ranker.
When you do your repaints.......let's see them.
Be great to see what you do with your models.
All the best
Barry
Great minis, Barry!
These are one of the most effective Imperial conversions I`ve ever seen.... because still have an "Imperial" look
.
The third one is amazing, and I like your ideas to "fix" the phantom´s original design. I don't like this ship, but I bought a miniature`s lot with one of these, so I`m planning to use the cockpit in a new freighter...
Good job!
How's your Jedi Starfighter coming along?
