Hey Guys.

Its been a while since I was last here......."got annoyed at losing the Painting forum !"

However Last week I finally got round to Converting and Repainting some of my Imperial Collection.

Full re-paints of all my Ace's............

Conversion of the TIE Advanced.

wasn't really a fan of the Look of Vader's ship, wanted something that looked a bit more Agile "for the best Pilot in the Galaxy !"

Tie Adv Experimental Mk2..........

TIE Interceptor with Inverted Solar/wing......

And a TIE Phantom that I wanted to look a little more Aggressive than the Standard Phantom.

Adding some larger weapons and 4 solar/wing's in an X wing configuration......

Looking forward to Seeing other Repaints and Conversions from you guys.

I really like the Phantom, though I can't figure out where you took the extra bits from. Are they some old 40k Eldar bits?

Yeah, all I have to say: wow!

Yep, that Phantom is better than the original. I like your TIE Advanced too, but it looks weaker and frailer than other TIEs, including the real Advanced, so maybe it would be better as an entirely new ship - super fast, but weak.

I like the look of that Tie Adv Experimental Mk2, did you get your inspiration from this?

Where did you get that Tie photo from.....that looks awesome...and very close to what I have done

When I kit bash my models.

I tend to have hundreds of parts in front of me.

Then I keep trying things until something looks good.

Those guns are from the small Arc 170 fighter snap kit model.

Keeping it in the star wars family !

I bought lots of the small and normal size snap kit models...2-3 of each

Primarily for use with kit bashing models.

I'm building two more

Modified Ties.

Another Phantom and a Defender.

Both very different to how they should look.

I'll post those photos soon.

What did you do for the inverted interceptor? Looks fairly easy and I already have 1 with 1 side of wings off.

Now that we have the new TIE/fo with it's paint scheme, has anyone done a TIE/LN in the reverse (a white body with the black solar panels)?

Those conversions are really clean, and to me they actually look better than the originals!

I am modding my tie punishers and will upload photos after they are done. Right now I'm waiting on a jeweler saw to arrive, I missed having one.

Ahhhhhh I see.

just had a look at these on line, there are some really nice designs.

in fact.....so many designs its hard to come up with something that hasn't already been done.

and the main reason I don't look at whats out there when i'm ship building.

I live in the UK, England Worcester.

as for doing commissions, I have been asked a few times before.

However my job takes me all over the country at times.

So I tend to have building frenzies when I have the chance once Im back home.

so building these for others could cause two issues.

mainly the time to do them,

and how long it would take.

I am a Professional Model Maker, and building models for a client can sometimes be expensive.

for something like this I doubt it would be costly, but I could look in to it.

but its more of a time thing.

I will look into it, and get back to you.

Oh,

The Inverted wings on the Red Tie are the wings from a Tie Defender and the Tie is a standard Tie.....wider wing supports than the Tie Interceptor.

it was a very simple and easy build....you just need to cut up a Defender !

I am modifying one with different wings, so I had those spare.

Have fun trying it, its easy to do.

I will keep Modding ties in a similar way, my next few use the hulls of the Defender and Phantom.

but will look nothing like them !
