When we get a Xanadu Blood, it will have cloaking.
Everyone cloaks?
Whoops. Missed that. Didn't see the unique icon.
Panic attack over.
I'm just imagining the Ghost with a cloaking device. Or the Raider.

Small ship only
Hmm. I have a question.
The cloaking device card says that when you get an Eye on the die, you decloak OR discard the cloak token.
Does that mean that you can choose NOT to decloak and stay cloaked the rest of the game, by discarding the cloak token?
As I read it, once the card itself is discarded, the effect that makes you decloak at the end of the round on an Eye result ceases to apply. You won't be able to attack again, but at least you will keep the +2 extra defense dice.
To which purpose anyway, you might ask.
Well, what about a cheap, non-combat oriented ship like Dace Bonearm, Torkil Mux, or any other support only ship that can equip an ilicit upgrade and stay cloaked forever to increase its survivalvility?
That is, I admit, the one bit that's a little odd.
The lore says that small ships can't cloak. The minatures game to date allows only the smallest to do so...
Even in TCW, there was at least one small ship that purported to be equipped with a cloaking device - Cad Bane's Rogue-class starfighter:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rogue-class_starfighter/Canon
Though in an earlier episode (Cat & Mouse) with respect to a cloakable corvette, Anakin says "Well, no ship this small usually has a cloaking device"
Suggesting that, at least in the public eye, small cloaked ships are practically unheard-of.

No, once the token is discarded you're no longer cloaked. The choice is just whether to take the extra decloak movement or not.

Well, the's also the whole "precise stormtroopers", "last of the Jedi will you be"*, bantha fodder -> bantha crap, etc... Lucas has already said screw the lore within both the prequels and the original films themselves, so there is precedent.
*Specifically in reference to how non-special and non-rare Jedi became later on in the span of the franchise.
And what do you mean about bantha fodder and bantha crap too?
Edited by mazz0So, Talonbane Cobra with Scum cloak + Stealth Device ... will get 7 (8 if obscured) evade dice in range 3 (vs. primary weapons)?
Thats a lot.
I don't even own that much green dice.
Well ... THATS a reason to buy the new core set ![]()

Nah dice apps much cheaper.
Really looking forward to the Mist Hunter expansion. The Unreliable Cloaking Device™ is going to be such good fun.
I'll be looking forward to trying it out on
- TBC
- N'Dru Sulak
- Guri with Virago
- Zuckuss/4LOM (obviously)...
Hell, it could be really entertaining on some of the Scum HWK's...

What about Guri + Stealth Device + Cloaking Device + Virago + Push the Limit or Lone Wolf
Lots of points but good luck hitting her!

Well, in defense of the "precise stormtroopers," in Star Wars at least, everyone seems to forget they were under orders to let the group escape. That was some very precise intentional missing.
When the day is long, and the night, the night is really dark
When you think you've had enough, of TLT's so long.
Don't let the game go, cause eeevrybody cloaks
everybody cloaks, sooomtiiimes.
don't hate me.
Man, too bad Scyks can't get Illicits. It would be crazy good to have Serrisu with Cloaking.

No, because if you don't have a cloak token on you, you aren't cloaked.
Basically, what the card is saying is when the device burns out you can either choose to take the free move you get when you decloak, or you can just discard the token and stay where you are.
Dammit I was ninja'ed!

Yeah. But you know the worst of it, even George Lucas even broke that rule. Here's a featurette from Clone Wars where Dave Filloni talks about cloaking devices. When he pointed out to George that small ships shouldn't have cloaking devices, George basically said, "Well this one does." So now we have a galaxy where no small ship should have cloaking devices (only big ships should) but no big ships actually have cloaking devices.

Does the electronic baffle not look like it removes an ion token for a damage? But that's not very good. No matter what the cost or slot of the upgrade... hum..
Crazy talk.
I had a nearly full health Bossk ioned of the board a while ago.
I would happily have traded an extra point of damage to keep the yt in the game.

I agree. It's good to have the option
