Tie List

Hey everyone, I'm new to the game and I just bought a couple things that looked intresting to me and am trying to build my first list. I think what i have works well based on my first read over on the rules but I could use some more input from experienced players. Thank you in advance!

  • TIE Fighter - Howlrunner - 18 Points
  • TIE/FO - Epsilon Leader - 19 Points
  • TIE/FO - Omega Ace - 21 points
  • TIE Fighter - Academy Pilot - 12 Points
  • TIE Interceptor - Soontir Fell - 30 Points - Push The Limit

Hmm, Well I do not have the third TIE/FO yet and only 2 push the limits from the imperial aces pack so that would be a bit hard to do for me.

I so Far have bought Both Starters, A Tie, An Interceptor and Imperial Aces. I'm not averse to buying more but I would rather not double up on the force awakens starter just yet. I was hoping on some input with the list I had rather then looking for something truly competitive to completly replace it ^^'. I could see something like dropping the academy pilot for more upgrades though I'm not sure if using only 4 named ships is wise.

The 4 named pilots could be ok. What do you think of this?:

Drop the Academy Pilot

Push The Limit on Omega Ace

Weapons Guidance on Epsilon Leader

Howlrunner could do with an Elite Talent, maybe Determination or Wired

Maybe try to get Stealth Device/Autothrusters for Soontir. Just my 2 pence/cents!

Generally speaking, its a bad idea to drop a ship in order to take more upgrades, but of course there can be exceptions.

In the case of your list, the only thing really 'missing' is autothrusters on Soontir. Personally, I don't really like Epsilon Leader here. I know the ability is nice for k-turns and all, but 19 pts just to take the stress away after a k-turn is a bit meh, but YMMV. Also, I don't think using Epsilon to pull off Soontir's stress token is going to work very well. Soontir doesn't like being close to other ships, even allies. It cramps his style. He is so susceptible to blocking (even if his dial gets opened up). You'd be much better off flanking with him (in which case he'll never benefit from Epsilon Leader). YMMV, but that's based on my experience.

Oh yeah, I agree that Push the Limit is really good on Omega Ace, so there is that too. Rather than drop a ship, I would recommend downgrading Epsilon Leader to just Epsilon pilot in order to put Push the Limit on Omega Ace. Or turn him into an academy pilot so you can throw autothrusters or hull or stealth on Soontir.
