Just thought y'all should know. Yes it's supposed to be every two weeks, but I don't know of anyone else who does it regularly, much less at the quality that FCB tends to get to.
No FCB X-Wing Twitch stream this week makes me sad.
Wow man thanks for the post!

Hey, I just call 'em like I see 'em.
We had a really rough time getting together to make it happen. Our usual TO/league manager/occasional commenter is vacationing and Brandon (engine25) has been super busy with work. He's a PA for a lot of the local film and tv things that Atlanta has going.
So it was an off night for the crew.

No, I totally get that stuff happens, and that you guys don't get paid for this or anything. But, this is the internet, and therefore, I get to ***** and moan lol.
Those that have tuned in know that I tune in every week I can and act like an ass I the chat lmao. Could I do no less here?
Board game streaming is much harder to do than say video game streaming which is the overwhelming majority of Twitch streaming. With Twitch you just need screen capture, with board games the physical world (and I don't just mean real life) gets in the way. You have to worry about lighting, camera angles, not to mention play patterns that are easy to view. For example you usually put dials next to the model but in streaming you would have to put it in box off the board when ever you flip the dials. Not to mention you can't cut out dead time as with edited videos so you will have to force yourself in a time which can make the game rather frustrating as you are forced not to play the game for your own enjoyment but for the enjoyment of the viewers.
The alternative is to use emulation but that could come into may legal complications especially with the publishers that hold the rights. That is why Vassal will not load dials and card stats and text and rather just the shell that users have to fill out to show that they own the physical product. Also with the latest FCC ruling against emulations equating it to piracy, emulators such as Vassal and Octgn are more exposed than ever to cease & desists orders and lawsuits.
Nah, we have the live streams down to a science and the live commentary gives it more of a sporting event feel than a "this happened, and then this happened" breakdown.
Some times it means a game runs nearly two hours, sometimes you get to see 3 starvipers wreck face.
I know right, it was rough
but I managed to make it through the evening with no permanent psychological damage.
Hey, I TRIED to make last week's match last until this week. I'm still peeved at Lambot for "accidently losing connection" before I completed my epic comeback, but in an alternate universe, those two K-Wings are still chasing each other around the table while Poe focuses on his navel and regenerates yet another shield.
I agree with the op. Love the wednesday reports. I cannot always see them live, but I love to watch them later.
Holy crap I haven't put up last weeks videos on YouTube! I hope they're still there. I've been swamped with shows last two weeks followed by coming home and working on my Dragon Con photos that are two weeks overdue because I was moving immediately after the convention and haven't had a day off 10 days in a row now.
I hope they're still they're they expire after a week or two. Problem is I get home at 11 tonight and have an 8 AM call every day this weekend.
I really hope those videos haven't expired :-(
Edited by Engine25Me too!
Just so you guys know
Eagle TSI Like the car from the 80's and 90's. My first Sport car! Hence the name! Yes I'm that old.
Haven't seen the usual announcement thread. Is it offline this week too?
Tonight is the night! I'm home and ready to watch!
Awe! No Engine tonight.
Edited by eagletsi111Huh, no announcement but it's on
I will say this about X-wing streaming. While X-wing is a ton of fun to play I don't necessarily find it fun to watch. Even on vassal. The format of the stream still has to be adjusted for optimal viewing. The main issue with streams as always you have to play for the viewers not just the game.

I've found that FCB does an excellent stream. Good players, good commentary, and the by play between the commentators and the chat is fun. I love it. I don't watch vassal streams, I don't know why, just can't get into it as much without seeing the real ships on the board.
Was a good show guys. Don't forget to make the announcement in the forums next lol
Engine needs to get back in the game so I can actually play one of these weeks. Hope you guys enjoyed the show last night
