Store has told you/has been told November, CEO of FFG says Q4... Plan on February or March release.
I'm cautiously optimistic that FFG and Alex Davy have the right of it and things will be going smoothly. Between quicker factory production and smoother shipping routines I expect November/December is certainly viable. Retailer info supporting that Nov/Dec line is uplifting, and of course getting product out for the film is both a Disney and Lucasfilm tradition!
I can certainly understand them wanting to get in before Christmas. This will make my Christmas wish list pretty easy this year at least for my family.
Worst case scenario, they can always sell empty boxes for under the x-mas tree, it's not like that's never happened with star wars product before
There is one T-70 pilot they look like they're trying to _not_ spoil. If that's the case, we probably won't see Wave 8 until the 18th of December at the earliest.
And, frankly, 18 December is probably the single worst day of the year to launch a new product. It is perfectly timed to ruin a lot of Christmases. Therefore of it's going to be late December, expect it to be held until January.
Also: 3rd parties put speculative dates on Amazon for X-Wing _every time_. Those dates mean nothing.

FFG hasn't done pre-releases at Worlds before (except maybe the draft packs, technically).
