400 point Redemption build

By GAThraawn, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Building on my experience with 300 point Redemption builds, and aiming to be as resilient as possible, I'm planning this 400 point build:

MC80 Command Cruiser

- Veteran Captain

- Engineering Team

- Redundant Shielding

- Garm Bel Iblis

MC80 Command Cruiser

- Defiance

- Veteran Captain

- Engineering Team

- Redundant Shielding

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate

- Redemption

- Engineering Team

CR90 A

- Tantive IV

- Leia Organa

Total: 394

Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost, Intel Sweep

Wasn't certain what to do with the last few points, so I added Defiance, but that's flexible. Mostly, I want a strong initiative bid so I can always repair a ship before it's destroyed. Between Garm, Veteran Captains and Tantive IV, my ships should always have the Engineering token needed to repair for 4 points, plus shielding upgrades, so the MC80s can recover 3 shields each round. No squadrons, but reasonable anti-squadron fire. Mostly want to keep Leia out of trouble and keep the MC80s between the enemy and the rest of my fleet.

I've already had good fortune jousting Redemption buffed Nebulon-Bs against Victory classes, so I'm looking forward to seeing how much of a pounding the big Mon Cal ships can take.

Ironic that there isn't a Redemption there... :D

Might want to update that, since you put Yavaris down with no Squadrons :D

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate

- Redemption

- Engineering Team

I...have no idea what you mean...*ahem*

This isn't the ship you're looking for...move along, move along.

I said this in a different post, but it bears repeating here:

hat, you think you're some kind of Jedi?

I'm an Australian, Mind Tricks don't work on me...

... Only Beer...

This jedi just so happens to have a nice 80 proof scotch on hand. Now, lets talk about your invisible spaceship problem again, shall we?

I like the list and may try it myself.

A few options to try

1 - replace Leia with Raymus to spam 2 tokens to your MC80's (Fleet Cost - 398)

2 - replace a Veteran Captain with Raymus (Fleet Cost - 398)

3 - Raymus on CR90 and Leia on Neb B & drop Defiance (Fleet Cost - 396)

To keep strong Initiative bid, drop Defiance or change Garm to Dodonna

I've thought about Raymus, but he loses a lot of his utility with Bel Iblis; usually the ship is going to already be full on turns 1, 2 and 5, and there's a decent chance it'll be full on turn 3 too, meaning you get barely more value out of him than you do with a Veteran Captain.
